How come Bob Brolly does his Sunday Show on WM & C&W from the Mailbox, seeing he does the Coventry weekday show obviously from Coventry.
Does Priory Place have the ability to split WM & C&W jingles like the Danny Kelly Late Show during the week from the Mailbox or not?
Last time I heard some Coventry produced output over this way on 95.6, they were still at the old place (the old Laura & Geoff Saturday Early Show!) & playing generic jingles!
New Midlands Today promo just aired, with most of the presenters/correspondents in it. Using the slogan: 'Your News, is our News' at the end.
BBC WM are running a similar promo too.
Talking of said radio station, Mollie Green, sitting in for Les this week, for some reason(missed the first half hour!), was getting the listeners to hum the theme tunes to 'Star Wars', 'Indiana Jones' & 'Superman'!
People were having trouble surprisingly, even one caller hummed the 'Thunderbirds' theme!
Les Ross is in tonight's Express & Star, showing off his train!
He came to work Monday morning for the WM Breakfast Show but had to bail out around 845am due to feeling rather ill on air!
When I heard him talking to Mollie around 620am, he was on the Rennies.
I found out later when listening to the old codger Butler, that Daz Hale, who normally did 'The Final Word' on Monday evenings, had to go home, to cover for Flup on breakfast, leaving Rob Gurney (WM's sole Coventry fan!) to cover the Final Word.
Listening to Mollie the following morning, I learnt Flupton had bailed out during the weather(Quite apt as he was under it!), leaving firstly Jane France to 'use the training' she'd received from Mollie(so she says!) by 'pressing' GO on the computer, until Doolan got down to the studio(well he is knocking on a bit now!) to take over presenter duties. (Doolan was heard to quip allegedly 'I'm the healthiest on the station at the moment!', which suggests there's a bug at the Mailbox?)
In the meantime, Daz Hale also did Thursday Brekky & Franksy did Friday Brekky, with Lee Stone & Mark Regan handling Friday Drivetime & the Footy Phone In respectively.
