It seems Tyne Tees had the same problems with their dedicated live programme (from the Angel of the North).
The weather sting / sponsor played over the weather forecaster who was talking to the presenter. Then the recorded forecast played as normal.
Yep, same thing happened here.
Emma was ready to do the weather, the sting played really quietly with sound from the OB still in the background. She was heard saying: "I can't hear anything!"

Suzanne Virdee off this week so Nick has been paired with Shefali, Sarah & Satnan.
On Wm, Daz Hale & Jimmy Franks swop shows on Saturdays from this weekend, in fact returning to their previous slots(Les Ross era notwithstanding!), Daz doing brekky(which he did with Sally James before) & Jimmy Franks back on Saturday lunchtimes with a vintage chart countdown type show.
Jimmy has subbed for Paul Franks on Wednesday, Thursday & Friday this week too.

Haven't sat down and watched Central Tonight for a good while - but what a delight to have a set of old hands steadying the ship.
Bob Warman along with Llewela Bailey and Bob Hall on sport - seemed like we'd all gone back 15 years all of a sudden. And from I've seen with Bob and other often young co-presenters...he really seems to feel at home with his old friend or "on screen wife" Llew.

According to 5Live there has been a shooting in the Mailbox tonight, in an upmarket curry house. The building has been evacuated apparently.

Obviously not that bad for WM to evacuate then! (unless they'd edit the IPlayer recording?)
Shame, I wouldn't minded hearing the emergency tape & see how out of date it was!
I just thought of something.
This Telly Savalas film about Birmingham made in the mid 70's, that various WM presenters (Flupton & Les Ross?) are banging on about, is it available on You Tube, as it sounds quite naff, from hearing the audio clips?
