Wonder if she caught it. Usually it's her knickers that are being thrown back to her at the end of the show

Well the show totally changed style and content IIRC, I was an avid listener to both and didn't really mind the change.

oh yes, i'd love to hear the #there's a couple i know, they work on the radio# tony and julie song again.

There's at least 2 versions of that, ain't there?

The more familiar Chris Baxter version(That was online to download ages ago at one point. I'm guessing Alex Totney's website?) & a version by BBC Radio Derby's Shane O'Connor, when he was just starting out on his radio career at WM!(If it wasn't him, was it Daz Hale?)

Les Ross was interviewing James Whale yesterday, who was plugging his book.

Also with a book out is our 'friend' Gaunty, which is going for £16.99, with a £4 reduction at Waterstones.(I think I'll wait till it ends up in Booksale!)

Had a flick through last night.

He's got a high opinion of himself, hasn't he?

There was an anecdote about him & the wife meeting Doolan & wife at Doolan Towers.

He saw pictures of Doolan with the likes of Nelson Mandela, then wife asked Doolan how he got started.

'25 minutes later etc etc'

Doolan was also refered to as a 'Wily old fox'!

Love to know what more knowledgable people think of said book!

As I texted to Mollie Green yesterday, 'I thought Sun columnists weren't allowed sharp objects!' Laughing

Spotted Whale's book in Walsall's branch of The Works for £6!

Shock horror.

Mollie's metal detecting slot moves to 530am from next month! Laughing

Backdrop has changed yet again on Central Tonight!
It's the view of Centenary Square that's used on the late bulletin.
I wish they'd make their minds up on which view to use!

Be grateful, CNE's hasn't changed its backdrop for at least a year. No I tell a lie, they've been using a new one of late-- Trent Bridge at a slightly different angle on a duller day!

How many backdrops does CNW use these days? I take it they are all of Brum too?

Maybe it's to disguise their STILL broken panel which is now a very very dimmed light.

Amazing scenes! Five Star sing their latest hit on the last ever Pebble Mill At One, in such extravagant locations as the canteen and switchboard.

Great video, and well done for five star for dancing and miming very well, in so many locations, must have been one hell of a shoot.

As for Pebble Mill, I was wondering where Pebble Mill in the 90's came from, was it actually from Pebble Mill (I only remember bits, and I think, and stress on the word think that some of the presenters were Alan Titchmarsh, Judi Spicer, Ross King and Sarah Green) as I only remember from the Midlands Today report before tearing it down that there was only their studio, the one that they used for midlands today, was the only television studio. Was this wrong? Am I wrong?

Also where did the old regional children in need opt outs come from?

There were a few TV studios at Pebble Mill, however in it's last few years all but the Midlands Today one were closed, IIRC the last programme recorded there was Call My Bluff

The late 80's/ early 90's Daytime Live/Scene Today/Pebble Mill started off was in the old foyer studio, it was only the last year or 2 that it moved inside to a 'proper' studio
