It don't think it could be painted anyway. It would look even more stupid if it was painted on!

That's the CN east studio, the west studio walls go round a bit further

That's what I said if you look above! Smile

I Quoted before I read the edit , sorry guys!

Wow, it's incredibly bland without the lighting. I do agree, the ITV Regional look is getting incredibly dull, I don't think a change of lighting would fix it.

Notice there's a thread on the BBC message boards about Nick & his jokes!

According to the Express & Star radio listings, 'Stuart Ellis' was sitting in for Les Ross on WM.

Who's he then?

By the way Mollie was off on Monday for the day, with Tom Manners sitting in.

Took the opportunity to text him to say 'Hope Brendan Cole gets a slap from Billy Zane, if he tries it on with Kelly Brook'!, plus 'Your sister Sarah's better blonde by the way!' (Most recent pics/footage of Sarah Manners now show her as a brunette rather than a blonde!) He was 'Indifferent' on that one!

I think most sets probably do look bland without the lighting. But the ITV News set had to be simple enough to "mass produced" and yet versitile enough for them to change with just some subtle tweaks - such as to the lighting.

Does anybody know who the presenter of the late bulletin was tonight? I don't think I've seen her before. She was nice and cheery though! Smile
I see that the light still hasn't been replaced! Rolling Eyes

Still hasn't been fixed! It's off again now! Odd though because it was working for the evening bulletin? Confused

Is 'Network Gold' being slowly dropped across BBC Local Radio in the West Midlands, the same way 'The Record Collectors' was?

Noticed in tonight's 'Express & Star' radio listings that BBC Radio Stoke(I think?) were listing a different programme between 6 & 8 tonight, that wasn't football(like what WM normally do!)

I feel sorry for Plattie if that is the case.

Errrr . . . I don't think so. For a start, Platt's Network Gold is the feature story on the WM homepage!!

Ok, but still doesn't explain why one station dropped it for a non football show?

A small clarification from my mate at WM:

Network Gold is still networked across WM and Coventry & Warwickshire.
The rest of the region (Shropshire, Stoke & Hereford & Worcester) now have their own show which is Youth Club Classics presented from Stoke by Mary Fox.

Set Blues abound then in the midlands , how long will we have to wait for CNW to get the painters in ? All this blue - grey -teal just gives me a headache.

Sad

The right side of the studio lighting went down towards the end of last night's evening bulletin.
Beginning of bulletin:

I just wish they'd make it all blue and be done with it; to match with the national set. I hate the teal! Evil or Very Mad

Looks to me like they lost a single downlighter - could have been something as simple as a bulb blowing...

I think they are LED clusters. Maybe a DMX failure.
