The NEW Central West and BBC Midlands thread

if they took two weeks once would expect they also gave the whole studio a good deep clean and perhaps did some rewiring and general sorting of stuff

Oh how depressing.. I'm just back from holiday all excited expecting a NWT style to Midlands Today and all we get is this!!!

The Central News West set really is in a sorry state of affairs. It's light on one half of the studio has broken by the looks of it this lunchtime and it looks messy than ever. Blue, Grey, Teal & Pale Yellow. Yuck!

However with it doing that you can see that the walls have been burnt blue somewhat so they really need to replace it totally so it looks just as good in teal as it did when it was blue.

Thats my only gripe of CNW is that manky set. I suppose thats because Central South had their set so late and it looked so good. We must of just got spoilt.

Set Blues abound then in the midlands , how long will we have to wait for CNW to get the painters in ? All this blue - grey -teal just gives me a headache.

The right side of the studio lighting went down towards the end of last night's evening bulletin.

I just wish they'd make it all blue and be done with it; to match with the national set. I hate the teal!

Unfortunately, in light of the ITV proposed changes, you'll probably be stuck with that set until January 09 at the earliest. And, believe me, they'll run it into the ground rather than paint it! On the upside look out for slightly refreshed titles in the near future. No new music or anything exciting like that! Just a very basic updating of local shots and the graphics will look a tiny bit better.

It don't think it could be painted anyway. It would look even more stupid if it was painted on!

That's the CN east studio, the west studio walls go round a bit further

The set actually could be painted and cleaned up. Behind the fake glass there's basically an MDF wall painted grey. It probably needs a lick of paint and the light plasmas need replacing. All in all it doesnt need much to sort it out a bit!
