Indeed you could. On the cap it makes it look like blue screen but they were actualy lights shining on the red wall. Looks like the screens been cleared up + fixed too

I Think it's a new screen not cleaned or painted. and notice the silver is gone from the wall and the bumps in the red wall.

Thought it was a new screen, the old one was terribly scratched, its amazing how the cameras hide marks! It was becoming washed out too. Indeedy looks like the set is having a good re-fit and not some typical beeb bodge job. But the 'silver on the walls' were the poles which suspended the screen. They've just been replaced.
Regarding the set back when they first moved to the mailbox, on the panoramic image on the bbc site, there is a sofa by the sports desk, why was this sofa never used?Anyone know? TVM?

I noticed this too when I had a route around the BBC Birmingham site a while back. I'd also like to know.

that's one of the sofas from one of the 'oases' [bbc way of saying informal meeting areas]. presumably used before the studio sofa arrived at the mailbox

Wot no comment about Friday's Brum/Black Country Mail 'Hancock's Half Page' column & the cartoon, refering to somebody sending Suzanne Virdee 3 pairs of sexy stockings, after seeing her legs for the past couple of weeks?

I must say they have been on screen quite a bit recently!
I'd have thought they'd be hidden especialy with the Daily Mail saga a few weeks ago!
Bit of a mess up just on The Politics Show, they lost the signal from Brighton and it just left a picture of a man sitting in a room waiting to be interviewed scratching his chin!
