Good news about the annoying 14:9 situation that's been effecting Central News and ITV News programmes across the country for quite a long time now.
There are currently plans to begin transmitting regional news across the UK in widescreen very soon. It was originally planned for the end of the year in December but the exact date is still not set yet!
At last it'll be in glorious widescreen!

This has been in the pipelines for months now, since the beginning of the year infact. Should be airing any time soon. I hear Nick cant wait to get his hands on the new desk
after all the current desk is merely plastic, glass and a bit of tissue paper.
I want their current desk
What on earth would you do with it?
Nice coffee table or PC desk, I already asked Nick for it.
What you trading it for, pokemon cards?
no , £400

... or bbc oxford
Hmm. Guess my source was full of ****
well bbc oxford's coffee table is wavy
and what is it with everyone battling it out over what their "source" has said?
What you trading it for, pokemon cards?
lol!
I'd be surprised if you could fit a computer on there judging by how small it is!
I use a laptop
but the tissue paper can be removed and there is a monitor bracket in it I'd just need a bit of wood.
you'll need the tissue paper anyway, considering your excitement at the thought of using nicks desk

I hope they incorporate some gradient or something in to it

Well . . . I'm not sure what the new studio is going to look like, but the titles and graphics are definitely changing from this:

. . . to this style:

And the titles are changing so that they feature the production team working in the Mailbox (newsroom shots, few people in the gallery etc). You know, this sort of thing.
