Could it be that they've pre recorded one of the central bulletins for the shorter bulletins through the day, i.e. used the same studio for both, but left the 6 live and so had to used the 'meeting room'?

i think ofcom might slap their wrists again if they did - central east were told off for being very naughty by pre-recording the late bulletin only a few years ago

I emailed the Duty Office about it as it's really puzzling me!! This is the response I got from them.

Thank you for your recent email.
I can confirm that the studio changes were due to annual maintenance.

So there you go! Laughing

Llewella normally presents the east/weds weekend bulletins, although Anna Brees covered last week.

I'm sure all on the forum wish WM's Ed Doolan a speedy recovery after an emergency operation to insert a pacemaker.

Jimmy Franks is currently looking after his show.

Currently here are the known stand ins:

Tom Manners in for Mollie Green on earlies

Richard Wilford in for Phil Upton @ Breakfast.

Jimmy Franks in for Doolan.

Mollie Green in for Les Ross.

Additionally yesterday, Paul Franks took a day off for a driving awareness course with Mike Taylor sitting in, so the only regular presenters on Wednesday were the evening presenters Daz Hale & Danny Kelly!

Can anyone think of a day for either WM or any other station, where most of the regular presenting staff were either off or on different shifts to normal?

Going back to Doolan, bearing in mind Keith Beech is known unofficially as 'Herr Flick', due to his resemblance to said character, can we now refer to Ed as 'Monsieur Alphonse', due to his 'dicky ticker' ?

Taking it further, how about Les Ross as 'Lieutenant Gruber'

Instead of a 'little tank', a little Mini Cooper !

As for 'Rene', gotta be Chinnie 'cos he's got the tache!

Since LB has moved between CNE and CNW over the years, she was natural choice for the joint weekend bulletins! When she's off, usually Anna Brees, Tom Willats, Chris James or even Bob Warman cover.

If you go to ITV Local Central then click on "Meet the Team", there's a nice interview with LB there.

Apparently 5 Live had a week of this recently.
