Why all of a sudden are Central News including Gloucestershire in the region when they made it clear when Herefordshire joined that Gloucester was part of ITV West.

I've wondered that too.

The reference to "our Gloucester office" with Karen Griggs' delayed report t'other day was also a bit odd.

I'd assume that the Gloucester office would actually have "ITV West" signage on it (?) albeit that it's seemingly also used by Central for gathering Herefordshire stories.

I didn't see what you describe as I receive ITV West, but from the outside the office is clearly branded as "ITV West".

I have not been impressed with ITV reports of the flooding. They air stateside on our PBS programme THE NEWS HOUR. Is ITV a force these days?

Just as I suspected!

The Gloucester office would presumably have been "ITV Central" branded whilst Central South still existed, as it must've been their "west of the region" (i.e. Herefordshire and North Gloucestershire) base. Whether or not ITV West would've ever made occasional use of it back then for any reason, I don't know.

As North Gloucestershire is now officially meant to be ITV West territory, the Gloucester office is clearly going to officially be regarded as an "ITV West" facility now, even though it practice it's shared by West/Central in terms of usage.

Whats wrong with the backdrop on Central West? They've got a static generic background today like Central South did with their set.
Are they finally sorting out those lights which looks really old and faded.

EDIT: Actually I think they're in their temporary set as there's no wide shots at all.

Yes, they do seem to be in some sort of temprary location. The static backdrop is clearly a cardboard (or similar) print-off, not any kind of projector/plasma (etc) screen. In the few "wide" (sort of) shots that there were in last night's 6pm programme, you could clearly see that it wasn't the usual set walls. Probably in a meeting room.

CN East was in the meeting room for their final ever "blue-and-yellow-squares" week, so that the proper East studio/set in Brum could have a projector screen fitted in place of the previous static blue-tinted-photograph-of-Nottingham backdrop, in time for the Teal launch-day.

So whats going on then ? A different backdrop , new lights ?

I don't like how everyone looks this week. The presenters appear slightly out of focus and the colour is garish like an old cine film. How long is this going on for ?

I don't know although they are desperate for them as they look really dull, bland and faded compared with other ITV sets. Central was the first to get the generic set if i remember rightly (Considering we used to be with Central South which was the last!) and ever since they went teal last January, it really made the set look bland.

The advantage of this new set is that they're using the titles more on Central News instead of using that low angle shot which didn't make the faded set much justice.

Anyone been to see Mollie Green while she's 'on tour' with the WM Animal Appeal?

From what I've heard so far, it's going very well.

(I must admit if I'd been free to go, besides dropping a few packs of Felix off, it would've been interesting to see if she was nutty off air as she was on air!)

She's in for Les Ross for the next 2 weeks on WM by the way from Monday.
