i thought the programme was rather good - interesting to note how the programme managed to cover the [by now, almost tired] story from a different perspective. be great to see the bbc's regional teams used like this again. loved christa's patronising tone - she seems to be a self appointed flood expert, methinks nick is not used to having such a dominant woman co presenting. sadly christa didn't mention the lipstick incident Sad

a highlight for me was the woman with the cup-a-soup in the bbc radio norfolk mug squeezing past the interviewee in norwich when he was live on air

Just for you TVM!! Smile

i was thinking actually - this must be the first live bbc birmingham production on network tv since the one show ended in september. also must be one of the only live bbc midlands productions [ie produced by bbc midlands as opposed to bbc birmingham f&l/dc&f or drama] to be seen on network.

Even if the end credit was "BBC English Regions" rather than BBC Brum/West Midlands

i'm guessing that was a funding thing. twas a bbc midlands production in all but name (with input from bbc y&l/ bbc west and bbc news who had a crew in oxford)

bbc english regions don't have a production arm as far as i know - aside from the birmingham based bbc english regions creative who make regional trails.

Don't BBC English Regions also produce the "Inside Out England" repeat strand - that is networked across England rather than regionally opted?

Man jailed for stalking presenter

Carter wrongly accused Miss Mee of mouthing abuse at him
A man who harassed a TV presenter has been jailed for six months.
William Carter, 32, from Kidderminster, approached Sarah Jane Mee three times in Birmingham, his trial at the city's magistrates court heard last month.

On one occasion Carter, who is deaf and communicates through sign language, hit ITV Central and Heart FM presenter Miss Mee, 28, on the back of the head.

Sentencing him for harassment, District Judge Michael Morris told Carter he had a "morbid fascination" with Miss Mee.

Restraining order

Carter, of Walter Nash Road East was found guilty of harassment on 11 June after the court heard how he approached the presenter in Birmingham city centre last autumn.

Carter claimed at his trial that Miss Mee mouthed rude and offensive words about him during her broadcasts.

You subjected Miss Mee to the worry of attending court and being falsely accused

Judge Michael Morris

Passing sentence, the judge said there was "not a shred of evidence" to support Carter's claim.

He added: "You clearly have a morbid fascination and fixation with female news and television presenters.

"You subjected Miss Mee to the worry of attending court and being falsely accused as part of your defence."

Judge Morris also imposed a 10-year restraining order preventing Carter from approaching Miss Mee, the ITV Central studios and the studios of Heart FM.

A second three-year restraining order was imposed to stop Carter harassing staff at the Starbucks coffee shop on New Street in Birmingham.

Carter also pleaded guilty to three charges of theft and was sentenced to three months in jail, to be served concurrently with his harassment sentence.

Why all of a sudden are Central News including Gloucestershire in the region when they made it clear when Herefordshire joined that Gloucester was part of ITV West.
They seem to be only interested when it's the pinpoint of a big news story.

Much like them covering Madeline McCann which has what relevance to this region?

Some of the WM web pages have been updated eg :

http://www.bbc.co.uk/birmingham/content/articles/2006/03/13/mollie_green_feature.shtml

Although Mol's piccy's in black & white, there is a pic of Jane France on there.

Also the page for the Animal Appeal :

http://www.bbc.co.uk/birmingham/content/articles/2007/07/26/wm_animal_appeal_feature.shtml

As for where she is, off the top off my head, I can remember Tettenhall & Wolves ASDA on Monday & Cannock ASDA & Morrisons Walsall(The old Safeway one in Lichfield Street opposite the Arbouretum!) on Wednesday.

I won't see her anyway, as I'm working as usual! Sad

Nikki Tapper (boo) & Tom Manners sitting in over the 3 weeks she's away, but she's in for Les for 2 weeks though.

Interesting seeing Christa in Brum, or as I refer to her 'Jane McDonald on the cheap' !
