Looks like the Beeb's ban on phone in competitions has extended to Mollie's show, from the brief bit I caught this morning(woke up late!).
Mind you, someone did text in to say 'The only thing dodgy about your show is the 5 day weather forecast!'
(Mollie normally reads the 5 day weather forecast around 540am, as nicked from BBC Online, & it's normally wrong in her opinion!)
Still makes a change from the naff competitions & prizes!
She occasionally has to delve into her bag for a prize too, if she has nothing by official sources, which have been a bit thin on the ground lately.

Oooh dear, the vision-mixing gremlins were back at CNE tonight
I doubt CNW suffered from the same problems tonight?

The start of CNW was quite weird! The VT at the beginning about the floods overran a bit but the sound was cut and we were left with a few seconds of the headline music!! Then the titles overran a little bit but not too much.
The rest of the show was fine!

Anyone worked out what the Nepalise is for 'On Your Bike' yet?
Yep 'Herr Flick' himself, Wm's Managing Editor, Keith Beech, is off to Nepal for a year, as part of an attachment jointly funded by the BBC World Service & the UN.
His UN mission is to introduce local radio phone ins into a country where democracy is taking hold after a civil war.
I guess the woman from Radio Stoke that stood in for him, while he stood in for Dave Holdsworth, will be standing in again, unless someone says different.
Anyone given CWR's Liz Kershaw any stick on air for her 6Music show debacle yet?
Spare a thought for Cath Mackie of MT as she was trapped by water somewhere in Worcestershire live on screen tonight. (I guess she's been rescued by now?)
Finally, apart from the news that Jasper Carrott will get a Brum Walk of Fame star, it's Doolan's birthday today.
What a contrast with the weather last year! The great & good were at Weston last year, compared to being stuck in the West Midlands this year!

The other minor glitch in the titles apart from Steve Keeling 's intro being a bit messy was Karen Griggs at Hereford in her intro. She did her intro piece to camera with no problem but then the sound was faded down It then carried on for a few seconds with her talking to her cameraman like it was a rehearsal.
I don't think they intended to but the first ten minutes of the show was a bit fraught almost melodramatic in the tone of reports and links by the presenters.
As for the floods I hope it doesn't get any worse in Tenbury tonight.

Speaking of Hereford, I'm surprised that ever since Herefordshire joined the CNW region, the title sequence has never been updated to reflect this.
The titles seem very Birmingham-centric, with a plural number of images from in/around Brum (a Travel West Midlands bus passing the Selfidges/Bull Ring building; aerial view of Spaghetti Junction; people outside Symphony Hall at night; and possibly some of the other images are of Brum?). Conversely, the shot of ramblers walking near the Iron Bridge is possibly the only shot from the whole of Shropshire, in the titles. So, it's all very much a case of Brum, Brum, Brum, and a "token" shot from each of the Shire counties of the region.
IMHO, they should replace one of the Brum shots with, say, this:
http://www.wellho.net/pix/heref1.jpg
(or something)
In the Symphony Hall clip, the "Birmingham Wheel" can be seen reflected in the glass frontage of the SH building. But there is no Birmingham Wheel anymore, so the shot is outdated. Therefore, it is surely the prime candidate to be replaced by a Herefordshire shot?
If it wasn't for the reflected wheel, and if the "Symphony Hall" blue-lit lettering weren't specifically included in-shot, there would be no way of telling where in the world this footage was of, as it otherwise looks like so many other modern, glass-fronted public buildings. Therefore, it's inclusion has always seemed barely justifiable to me, as it hardly screams "Western Midlands Region" at you, in the way that, say, Ironbridge does.
By the way, there's one shot in the CNW titles of a statue of a bloke with someone holding a crown over his head (or something like that - it goes by so quickly, that I can't really take it all in). Where in the WM region is that, and who's it a statue of/what's it comemmorating? Anyone here know?
Also, I think they've rather overlooked the highly recognisable "kiln" buildings of the Staffordshire "Potteries" area - surely a very "landmark" skyline, if ever there was one.

Any news on Cath Mackie from Friday?
Hubby Phil, who's BBC Radio West of England correspondent on 5 live this morning, stuck at home it appeared.(Well it was a choice between Rimmer's God slot & 5live!)
Anyone hoping because of Leamington being flooded, that Danny Kelly couldn't get in to do his show, were disappointed as he made it in. His part of Leamington was 'OK' !
Stacey the Yank, who regular WM listeners will know as the voiceover of the current doggie show trail, plus helps out on on DK's Sunday show, was stuck in Worcester, so she couldn't make it in.
I listened to BBC Hereford & Worcester last night, for a change, & they'd been doing special programming. I listened from 6pm, where they'd replaced 'Network Gold', with John Hellings(who would've been at Worcester anyway from 8pm, with 'Big Bands') through till 10pm where they then handed over to Shropshire & Keith Middleton, who was on his own, no phone answerers either apparantly, until 1am & 5live.
(Shropshire did join H & W at 8pm (dunno about Stoke), but cross checking with DAB & FM, I noted continual H & W references & jingles on Shropshire. Surely they could've inserted the regional jingles if they knew Shropshire was joining for the flood programme? Even the travel bloke was just name checking H & W!)

Am I the only person having issues with ITV Local... until a few weeks ago I had no problem accessing the site, now all I get are "streaming errors" and being asked to confirm my wireless settings (I oblige but still no joy
)
Sadly on the other site , they have appeared to have stopped uploaded clips now.
