Another bodge up on Central East this lunchtime, another package refused to play. Are they having similar problems at CNW-- or is it CNE that just has a 'hair in the gate'?

Slight diversion for a change.

Bearing in mind that due to the current weather conditions, it has been decided to close the annual Royal Show at Stoneleigh Warwickshire a day early, it got me thinking 'ATV & maybe Central used to have a regular half hour programme in the afternoon, to cover the Royal Show. When did it start & finish ?'

This will get some gray matter working for someone!

one is becoming increasingly confused with west midlands central tonight- is joanne malin the main presenter or not?

tonight saw anna brees presenting- very good she is to, but having joanne malin on as a GUEST to introduce her story about her charity trek to the grand canyon. why was she just a guest and not presenting- it doesnt make sense to have anna brees presenting and joanne mailin in the studios as a guest, why not just do the whole programme,

someone please explain the logic

Nope, Central West has been fine. No problems at all! Smile

Oh dear. From watching the cock-ups on all three bad shows recently, it seems to me server problems have been compounded by an inexperienced director/vision mixer. Classic reactions to problems from somebody not experienced or trained properly - panicking and "playing the piano" on the vision mixer to find the right source when something goes wrong and so painfully slow at getting the presenters back in vision when things go to black.

That's what itv get for relying on cheap, untrained "child" labour!

Perhaps her charity trek has nothing to do with ITV Central, so if she presented the main programme & promoted her charity trek as well, it would break some obscure OFCOM regulation, so that is, IMO, why she would have to appear as a guest.

Then again it doesn't stop your local BBC presenter plugging an outside event either they or a colleague are doing, does it ?

I'm sure, given time, I could think of a few examples!

Mollie opening up a Cats Protection League shop in Lye last year springs to mind, for starters!

Quite unusual to see the breakfast bulletin presenter Michelle Robinson presenting the late bulletin tonight.

Perhaps so that she was available do do a similar piece on the other sub-regions?

How come she only appears at Breakfast anyway ?

Does she do the lunchtime bulletin like Kay does?

I've never seen her on the 630!

Bit of news I heard this morning(Those sharp eyed amongst us will have noted my posting times this week have been been different because I'm on hols until Monday!).

It appears Joanna Tidman of BBC WM is now joining Midlands Today full time as Phil Upton said goodbye to her on air this morning.

So that's probably the end of Tidders, Mollie's & Jane's lunch dates, as Tidders will be too busy to join in, due to MT duties.

Talking of the Green, she's not back till Wednesday as she's off to France for a few days(ISTR she & the infamous Lewis have split up(if that's correct, I'm not surprised, listening to her about her off air life, that he's bailed out. I mean 8 cats I ask you. It's bad enough looking after one!)).

Jimmy Franks is stepping in then.

The Animal Appeal is the end of July, & more details will follow, when I hear a mention of them.

She will be off that week, plus Les Ross will be off for 2 weeks too, so instead of Les banging on about trains, you'll get Mollie banging on about animals & metal detecting instead, as she'll be in for Les at that point, so she'll be off the Early Show for 3 weeks at that point.(Hope there's someone decent covering as Nikki Tapper's boring! She looks like Halle Berry apparantly Rolling Eyes )

I've also caught Danny Kelly this week on the Late Show too & quite frankly I'm Shocked at the language!

You never got this from Waddo!

Phil Upton this morning live from the launch of the Brum Jazz Festival & Les Ross also live from Cannon Hill Park this afternoon too!

Nope she doesn't present the lunchtime bulletins.
I'd like to know why she isn't involved in the main programme too! Confused
Very confusing.

bit of a rarity this evening - shefali was ill and presumably simon was otherwise engaged, so we had weather down the line with daniel corbett. he even went to the trouble to mention the weather for the athletics at the alexandra stadium, something shef never seems to have time for.

It was blueish still captions at 130 with Mike Collie!

Was Dan Corbett the duty N24 presenter at the time?
