We got our first real 'Child Rescue Alert' tonight. However it didn't interrupt any programmes with the bar (I don't think) and just appeared throughout the 10.25 bulletin.

indeed - odd they didn't show it during traffic cops or whenever they received the news.
i wonder if they have permission to overlay it onto network programming? if not, there doesn't seem a lot of point in the service which is meant to help in the crucial first hour
oh yes - and nice to see bbc mids have the fairy ident (or whatever its called). fabulous, i'm sick of kites and moon.
Following on from last weekend's 'staff social event', Jo Tidman's birthday barbq, the WM crew headed off to the Dudley Canal Tunnel, to celabrate Cayte Walker's wedding to her long term partner!
According to Phil Upton, Cayte is now a Gibbon! (Insert your own joke here!)
Seriously, I'm sure all of us on the Forum would like to wish Cayte & new hubby well.
(I realised this year, it's 10 years since I started listening to the 'Early Show' on a regular basis. At that point, I think Cayte had just started(I remember Gordon Astley doing Drive on WM, & she was finishing off doing AA Roadwatch, as well as starting Earlies!), then it was Cayte & Shane O'Connor(Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Pebble Mill being painted or something, which meant shows moving studios for a limited period. Certainly the Waddo & Julie Late Show had to move to Radio Leicester for a few months because of this! I'm guessing the studio Cayte & the other 'operate your own desk' presenters used was out of action & Cayte couldn't operate the other studio by herself, so Shane 'helped' her for a time), then Cayte on her own again, then Shane on his own, including the infamous occasion when he overslept, then when Waddo & Julie took over breakfast, Julie also did the Early Show too, then when Goldie took over Brekky, Danny Kelly took over. At this point the schedules changed, with Earlies now 2 hours, then Mollie took over!)
Tonight's MT was presented by Mike & Sarah.(Isn't it normally Shefali as female no2?)
A few tributes to the 'Doog', Derek Dougan of Villa, Wolves, Northern Ireland, UKIP etc. I believe Doog was also involved with BBC Radio Birmingham in the 70's. Is that right?
Looking at 'The Stirrer' web site, congrats to Goldie, who's become a daddy for the 2nd time!
