I agree.

They could've reshot the titles.

The mid show sting is the same though!

TVM, or anyone else from BBC Birmingham, if they are looking in, I saw one of WM's vans coming out of Somerfield in Willenhall tonight, about 530.

I don't think it was a radio car, because they have a massive aerial on top, don't they, & this didn't.

I think it was similar to a Vauxhall Chevette, with the rear side windows painted out, & it was all in red, with the station logo on the side.

What do they use that for?

That really is awful, a pure rip off of the nationals!

They should have done a remix of the London music imo

Have been reading the comments - and having watched Nick and Suzanne (and Shefali) on tonight's Midlands Today, I can't fault it!

Stylish titles, excellent presenters, flowing programme with lots of live links.

Also like the other presenters - Kay Alexander, Michael Collie...

Easily the best local news programme in the regions (UTV Live in Belfast is stylish too and comes.)

Nick and Suzanne have a great presentation style... informative, warm, chatty, excellent links, informal. ove Nick's jokes and links to Suzanne: "guess how many days to countdown the cricket season..... etc.

East Midlands Today is also excellent with Anne Davies. Sorry, Look East needs more of veterans Carol Bundock and Kevin Birch.

Having watched other regions (notably the awful Look North from Leeds with veterans Harry and Christa, Scotland Today, Look East, Meridian) they don't come close...

Sorry but you can't beat Midlands Today ....

We are not faulting the programe. Its by miles the best BBC News Region. Nick and Susanne are just pure legends, excellent and genuine chemestry, great correspondends like David Gregory, Satnam Rana and weather from Shefali just makes the programme what it is.

Its only the strange use of music thats wrong, why slow down the titles and add the nationals music over it? What was wrong with London Alt. Mixes?

Is that for real? I seriously can't believe that someone would simply stick a slightly altered version of the national on top of the old package.

Conceptually, I suppose it's an interesting idea with unity literally across all outputs - but technically it fails. The headline bed is ok - a nice reworking of exisiting stuff - but the pure rip off of the national titles just seems, well, dodgy.

Sorry, more step back than forward.

I can't speak for WM, but generally speaking each BBC LR station has a number of smaller vehicles for reporters to go out in to gather the news (and possibly gather the shopping in this case).

Some (but not all) of these do have equipment to broadcast live from, although not in such high quality as the main radio car, and without the range that the telescopic mast brings. Usually they just have a bendy 4ft(ish) aerial on top. I remember going into a multi-storey car park in one once and making a great clattering noise every time I went under one of the concrete beams.
