Great news for those non-Midlanders amongst us who have enjoyed Westy's WM updates...

...WM is finally streaming:

Unless I'm using an old version of Real Player, it's not working for me !
(I tried another non Midlands station (Southern Counties), & that's working !

I'm using Real Player 8 Basic from an old magazine cover disc.

Anyway Mollie was a couple of minutes late switching on the station this morning, so we got a bit extra Five Live ! (She only noticed when she had already started !)

Noticing Hereford & Worcester is on as well, as well as CWR & Radio Stoke online. (Where's Shropshire then?)

Shows to listen to IMO : Mollie obviously, Goldberg, Doolan, Danny Kelly, Franksy & the Late Show.(Jury's still out on Gaunt & Sally James !)

Love to hear LDN'ers opinions of the Gaunt Saturday show!

As far as Hereford & Worcester & Stoke are concerned, listen to Rob Yarnold on Sundays between 3 & 6 for some decent music!

I guess people are already planning to do this but as I'm currently not in the Midlands Today region and have no access to Sky, could someone please post video of the last MT from the Mill?! Would be a shame to miss and I bet they'll give it a spectacular send off!

to see the whole show you might be better off watching the ridiculously compressed video on the midlands today website after the show.

at the end of the late news steve plugged tomorrow's show as a "special midlands today", which is a good sign. if by the time i get round to digitising the last show, no-one else has bothered - i'll upload the "best bits".

well kids - its the end of the road, the day we all hoped would never come has arrived.

sarah falkland presented midlands breakfast today - the last ever from pebble mill - so for nostalgia's sake - here is a last look at the midlands breakfast system in its current form (or so i believe)

http://www.tvmercia.co.uk/midlandsbrek1.jpg

heres the report about it being the last day at pebble mill. weekend bulletins are to come from bbc east midlands (presumably a pan-midlands bulletin) - must be the first time theres been one of them for over 10 years!! at-least we get to see the nottingham ironing board Laughing

LAST PEBBLE MILL MIDLANDS BREAKFAST - FULL REPORT

and heres the last look at the studio (during midlands breakfast anyway) as sarah says goodbye and "see you at the mailbox!"

LAST PEBBLE MILL MIDLANDS BREAKFAST - "SEE YOU AT THE MAILBOX"

ive said before how fab midlands today is when its from the conservatory - but it looks even better when theres strong wind - with all the leaves moving behind. not sure it matches up to how lovely it was when the sunlight was shining in when they used it in the summer though.

Surely "man in hat standing outside Selfridges" isn't from the new title sequence?! Really? Shocked

Will the selection of locations in the titles feel more like " Birmingham Today" than Midlands Today?

Wonder if they will do a Look East style of titles. In Look East's case focused on 'The Forum' zooming in to their new room, so will Midlands do a version based on the Mailbox? Look East switched to these titles when they moved from their previous location (I've forgot what it was) to The Forum.

Should prove to be an interesting evening on Monday ... I've been invited over to take a look, so we'll see what happens!

just had chance to watch the video of todays lunchtime edition - and it was fab. a live from the empty studio b - where midlands today used to come from, interview with the architect who built pebble mill and a promise of "faces from the past" on the 6.30 show.

its going to be emotional Sad

I wouldn't dream of taking the shine off Pebble Mill in this thread, but I only hope BBC Scotland give us such a feast of special programming when they move from Queen Margaret Drive to Pacific Quay.

As I was on my tube train from Holloway Road to South Kensington today, I couldn't help but feel a real air of mourning amongst the people of London for Pebble Mill.

It's as if Pebble Mill was the embodyment of what they always wanted. A successful, dynamic and exciting dynasty of daytime programming. But never have and never will acheive.

A sad day for all - let's just hope the 6.30 programme is a MASSIVE slap in the face for both London and Larry Scutta.
