I bet she gives a good Australian kiss with that mouth.

Shocked you're not in the toilets of the gale now mr lester, this thread is about wholesome family friendly debate, not gutter talk!

i don't think this thread is institutionally biased against central, i just rarely watch it so have little to post about it. but i can say i think their coverage of the terror arrests beat bbc mid's. i don't think we've seen bob's legs for years - you always know its a big story when bob's legs come out.

i happened to have beacon radio on in the car - and they were plugging ...

ENTERTAINMENT: Haunted Homes
On: ITV2
Date: Friday 2nd February 2007 (starting in 3 hours and 24 minutes)
Time: 22:30 to 23:30 (1 hour long)

Beacon Radio.
The paranormal detectives are back to help more families living in haunted homes. Mia Dolan, Mark Webb and Dr Chris French come to the aid of the workers at Beacon Radio in Wolverhampton. They work on the site of an old orphanage and constantly see the ghosts of playing children and a dark disturbing figure. Could this be the ghost of Frederick, a man wrongly accused of a crime against a missing child?

Perhaps it's the ghosts of the presenters they sacked 10 years ago, when they became Beacon FM Laughing

(I do know the majority of the presenters are stlll around working for various stations, Ian Perry at BBC Radio Shropshire for instance!

I might have a look, to look at the studios anyway, but the 'sad trekkie' is more into that sort of thing anyway! (Repeated 9pm Monday on ITV 2 BTW)

Anyone know if WABC's Jim Duncan is still in circulation? Friends of mine used to ring him up regulary!

I was having a dial twiddle recently & noticed Classic Gold WABC is no more, the station identifying as 'Classic Gold 990 & 1017'.

How long has that been going on then?

Does anyone still listen to the former local gold stations since they've been mostly nationalised?

Also what's the point of broadcasting 'local' London services such as LBC & Magic on DAB, when they can't provide local Midlands info as an opt out?

In fact LBC have a West Mids travel jingle but the news I heard was about the M25!

What's the point of that then?

Better than the Yorkshire variant, who crash out of "network" when the London travel is on and just play a bed with one of about 6 highlight snippets. Although at breakfast they do have local travel on every other travel bully, the remaining one just being the annoying bed.

They also have a habit of screwing up the automation at 6am and the London news bulletin goes out followed by an ad, then the TOTH bed goes out clean followed by the local news which had been pre-recorded for about 10 seconds when it gets chopped and we go back to "network".

I doubt it will happen sadly. Richard Whiteley only managed an OBE! Then again if we knighted Bob, Fred Dine(n)age may feel snubbed Wink We ought to knight Peter Levy instead Laughing

According to a couple of websites, UKONAIR & Radio Today.com, Les Ross will be moving to the Danny Kelly WM Lunchtime slot, while Kelly goes to the Late Show slot currently occupied by Jimmy Franks.

Is Jimmy having trouble keeping his WM life & other activities separate?

What's the betting the Keith Middleton 'fan club' will bang on about their 'hero' being overlooked yet again for either slot?

Will yours truly swop his alliegence from Mollie to the Scouser? (Only if Mollie moves & the replacement presenter is crap!)

I know my soon to retire boss won't listen to either Ross or Kelly 'cos he can't stand them!

Who will take over Saturday brekky & Sunday mornings then?

(I bet I get a PM from a certain person on these!)

Edit : Just noticed on Goldie's site, The Stirrer one, that Danny's also doing Sunday breakfast, while Jimbo's doing Saturday breakfast.

According to 'The Stirrer', Les is moving because he was now able to make himself available full time, rather than part time after the ill fated Saga move!

i'm not one to speculate on such matters - however i did rather enjoy jimmy's reaction to a texter who seemed to have a bit of a downer on the show, here it is for you listening pleasure:

Arrow http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5K9Weik3E5k
the clip starts just as jimmy is reading the end of the text

[i have to point out that i am not a dedicated fan of the programme - but my jet set life style does afford me a little time in the car, at which point i do indulge in a bit of wm]

i think jimmy does a fantastic job on the lateshow, dragging it kicking and screaming away from the tired old merry go round of late night bbc local radio, but keeping just enough of the tat and cliche which we all enjoy so much. i do hope he isn't leaving the slot.

rusty lee popped in to see bob to celebrate 25 years of central tv, and bob recalls that he used to frequent rusty's restaurant on hurst st ... not sure bob still ventures to hurst street for a bit of jerky chicken anymore though - its full of gays.

and whilst i'm at it - here are the central news "serving the midlands for 25 years" titles, including a bit of rusty in the headlines

as that tart once said at the ambassador's reception - with these central clips i am spoiling you. no more moaning that we're all a bit anti-central.

At this juncture I would like, once again, to express my annoyance over how self righteous and sickly Central News is. By all means be proud of your heritage but they just go too far. You have about 2 minutes of news and the rest is about how they present that 2 minutes of news.
