That ITV West promo looks similar in style to the recent ITV Tyne Tees ones for the launch of North East Tonight's north/south split.
Presenters in different locations across the region - the West one isn't half as slick as the Tyne Tees 'Closer to home' campaign though.

OH
It was Chris James during GMTV this morning, & the 635am slot went to pot, losing VT & autocue, ending with a 'GMTV continues shortly' caption (locally generated?), & off screen Chris said 'What do you want me to say?'!
Sorry, I should have said - I was talking about Midlands Today.
CHRIS JAMES IS A COMPLETE F**KIN PLONKER and I'm not surprised that Central News, especially GMTV bulletins, go tits up because they're run on a shoestring - presenter and ONE OTHER PERSON. That one other person at that isn't a proper director!

How many staff for the Beeb at this time of the day?
Wasn't Michelle Robinson ex Central?
(I'd watch the Beeb, but the 'sad trekkie' prefers GMTV !)

By Tuesday night's show, CNwest already seemed back to it's not-very-newsy self. They dragged out that tired old "does the word Christmas offend non-Christians?" debate, as per every December, rather than finding any real news to fill the programme with.
So, making the effort to kid Herefordshire viewers that CNwest is actually a decent news service, hasn't even lasted two days, let alone a whole week!

CNwest seemed considerably more "newsy" than usual last night - obviously lulling the Herefordshire viewers into a false sense of security, then it'll be business as usual (text competitions and other crap padding out a largely news-less show) from next week onwards!

I liked the subtle little touch during the weather on Monday's Central Tonight.
To start with, Leominster was the only Herefordshire place labelled on the weather map. Then more appeared as the forecast went along (Ross-on-Wye, Hereford, then Stow-on-the-Wold*)
* isn't that in Gloucestershire?

Stow-on-the-Wold is in Glocs
Charlie decided to use different places on the weathermap for CNE too last night, when it is always just Derby, Nottingham, Lincoln and Leicester. It is interesting to note on Calendar's weather, Jon Mitchell uses different places each day on the weathermap.

Well yours truly & next oldest bro went to Brum today, & had a look at the German market, then we had a walk to the Mailbox via Broad Street.
Crossing the road outside the old Central studios, my bro spotted someone in a car that looked familar.
I looked. It was Claire Short MP, obviously off to Ladywood on consituency business.
We walked down Bridge Street, where I pointed out (& I'm sure the relavent web masters will correct me if I'm wrong!) where 'Tiswas' used the back of the studios.
We had a look at the canal, where I told bro what happened the other week with the canal boats, then we went into the Mailbox & the Beeb & showed him WM & the Asian Network windows.
We went upstairs & noticed the Archers/Silver Street radio studio was open for a change so we peeped in the window, then finally we had a look at the 'Do your own weather thing' too.
Had to explain to bro about some of the stuff though, because he works away mostly, but he reckoned he saw something similar in Manchester once too.

I notice BBC Midlands Today have now got there Christmas tree up. I wonder if they will have to take it down again in the next couple of days. I remember a couple of years ago BBC London put there trees up this early and were forced to take them down again by BBC Execs, only for them to reappear a couple of days before Christmas.
