LOL - perhaps central east should do something similar Laughing Laughing

What, live from the ITV studios in Birmingham and serving the East Midlands, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire and Peterborough... this is Central Tonight. Wink

It was Chris James during GMTV this morning, & the 635am slot went to pot, losing VT & autocue, ending with a 'GMTV continues shortly' caption (locally generated?), & off screen Chris said 'What do you want me to say?'!

I bet they'll use that opening at 6pm for the whole week.

I think it's nice that they've made a real effort, on the "welcome to our Herefordshire viewers" front, with the OBs around the county all week.

CNwest seemed considerably more "newsy" than usual last night - obviously lulling the Herefordshire viewers into a false sense of security, then it'll be business as usual (text competitions and other crap padding out a largely news-less show) from next week onwards!

Didn't CNsouth manage to stay a lot more "newsy" than it's sister shows, right until the bitter end? Hell, they even retained the "Central News at Six" name, rather than changing to "Central Tonight".

The change to the non-"News"-mentioning title in the east and west midlands always struck me as being indicative of just how "magaziney" the shows have now become.

I bet ITV West are being extra "newsy" for this week only too???

I assume that the ITV West trailer shown on CNwest at 18:25(ish) last night was also used by CNsouth during their final week/fortnight? Obviously a precaution in case any technophobic north Gloucestershire viewers haven't managed to retune to Channel 30 yet. I was amused by Lisa Aziz (sp?) saying "It sounds complicated, but it really isn't".
