well bbc mids have been using kite, on this the first day of the new regional idents.

i wonder if the shortened ident before inside out (as seen in the video below) is official - or a midlands creation?

Does anyone think the BBC One (Midlands) on the trails ought to be surrounded by a red box or something?

It is hard to spot on a light background IMO.

TVM, bearing in mind your recent 'connections', what is the name of the backing track to the Phil Upton trails?

Is it a recent single release, as they've played a full version occasionally on WM as well?

Is it me, or are they having trouble finding a regular presenter for Poltics Show Midlands?

I gather Mike Collie did the first week, then some Asian woman's done it last few weeks, now Mike Collie's doing it today, I guess because he'll be doing the regional news later too. Mike just mentioned 'Sonia's back next week!'

Bit of WM programme news, today's Doolan Other Side Of is Dennis Seaton from early 80's Birmingham boy band Musical Youth, 'Pass The Dutchie' etc, Phil Upton returns from his 40th birthday celabrations on Monday, & 'Me' Daz Hale returns to the evening sport show, from covering breakfast, this week, plus the 'Fools Panel' is back too!

Following hard on the heels of Shabina leaving for Radio Oxford, we say bye bye to Nadine Towel, newsreader of this parish, as she's off down London for a few months!

It looks like, looking at the other regional threads, that all BBC English Regional News are getting extra time between 655 & 700.

Midlands Today, besides running through the national headlines, ran a report about Nick Owen receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award for Midlands News or summat, with Anne Diamond presenting it.

Also Ashley won an award for 'Inside Out' & he & producer Jacob Hickey were on stage to receive it from, I'm guessing here, Central's Jo Malin.

Back to the studio & Nick was presented by Simon, Ian & Shefali, a heavily wrapped parcel, which turned to be a Midlands Today mug!

Problems in Abingdon? A Total 'Central-wide' (West, East & South) Central News right now which 'Welcomes viewers from the South Midlands'. The Lunchtime bulletin was also from Birmingham as well.
