Surprised noone's noted this yet.

On Tuesday - Westlife(Yes that Westlife !), apart from being interviewed by schoolkids on Midlands Today, were also scheduled to be interviewed by WM's Danny Kelly as well, who managed to accidently call them 'Boyzone' !

Did someone at the Mill opt out a little bit early, during Helen Willett's forecast on the Six, leaving us with London audio, but Nick Owen reading his scripts & scratching his nose in the Pebble Mill conservatory, for about a minute, before the mistake was corrected.

Back on WM, Goldberg admitted on air(& backed up by the Express & Star!!), that the local plod had spoken to him regarding a phone call he made to NHS Direct regarding his baby daughter. (Nothing dodgy I hasten to add !)

on purpose - following a report about the how cluttered midlands roads are with "street furniture" - including a shot of the fab "BBC TV Studios" sign pointing at pebble mill.

Was Pebble Mill unavailble for 'The Politics Show'(unlikely, seeing MT's coming from there for it's last week!), or was it because the main story was about the Nottingham gun shootings & Ken (Fat Tory) Clarke?

Noticed it was full 16:9'ner vision in the East Mids, but the usual 14:9 in the West Mids, like the majority of the network show for some reason!(Can't they 'satelite' stuff from the US to London in 16:9 ? I'm sure every BBC News US material is in 14:9 !)

Can we assume last week was the last Pebble Mill show then?

I would assume Nottingham won't be the regular home for PS in future, because I can't see Goldie trekking up there every week, now he's gonna be based full time at the Mailbox with PS & his WM work!

Will PS be sharing studios with MT at the Mailbox, or will there be a separate studio ?

Anyone seen this Nick Owen book yet?

I've looked in Walsall, & I can't see a copy yet, even he's at Ottakers on 3/11 (I think!)

no news on how next weekend will shape up yet - i guess it'll either be a "down the line from nottingham" affair like today, from the conservatory or an OB.

i heard the the politics show midlands will come from the canal side window in the mailbox next to the "making it happen" space and the canteen. with the usual purple sofas and mat on the laminate floor. the new MT set is very red, so doesn't lend itself to easy purple-isation. and they have a camera-point by the window anyway, so it makes sense. i wouldn't stake my life on this being the case, but it was what i heard last week.

Yes, the regions are permately set up to broadcast in the mode that they do for their main programes (local news) it isn't reconfigurable at the drop of a hat

The UK is far ahead of all other countries in terms of widescreen TV so any pictures from another country will be 4:3.

Any upgrade to the dedicated BBC studios in the US would mean getting hold of 16:9 SD NTSC cameras which probably aren't that easyto come by

I taped World News Tonight (ABC) on BBC news 24, and im in widescreen, BTW. And WNT, was in 4:3 while all BBC News 24 was still in ws. 2 black bars at the top & 2 at the side.

So this is it the final week at Pebble Mill. Months and months of delay but this is it now.

tvmercia, any chance you could tell me how you know this information about the new studio set please??
