Last weeks Pan Regionals to me did not contain any more news, infact when straight to a non news story after the first headline on a short bulletin. (Sunday's I think)
The sort of stories when the side camera is used (half striped glass, half backdrop view)
Today (Sunday) Les Ross spoke to Geoffrey Hayes from Rainbow(the famous ITV kids show, not the rock group!)
Re Steve Irwin, Mollie / BBC WM broke the news at 545am approx last week!
What did Geoffrey say?
How he got the job while appearing in something else at Thames in a soap or something(I can't think of anything that was produced by Thames as a soap off the top of my head from that period though!) & mentioned Roy Skelton also doing the Dalek voices as well as Zippy & George. To be honest, I had my mind on something else at the time plus there's only so much 'Er Er' you can take from Les Ross before you mentally switch off!
It's a bit like how long you can listen to Mollie Green without thinking 'Get a grip woman'!
Take this morning for instance, she was on about being the 'missing link' or something because someone had mentioned the shape of her ears
Quick plug, it's her favourite subject next Monday morning.
The metal detecting man's in town!
Tonight's MT, the cameraman guy whos died. Condolences & all that, but I thought you couldn't do a black screen cut from opt out to network thesedays?
I thought digital had put paid to that! Straight cuts to & from network!
Les Ross' guest this morning was Gordon out of 60's pop duo 'Peter & Gordon', who is also a train enthusiast as well apparantly!(God not another one!)
Talking of trains & subject to technical review of today's dry run, next Sunday's show will come live from the 'Shakespeare Express' running between Snow Hill & Stratford on Avon.(If not, it's a 'normal' show then Les is off for the afternoon run instead, as next week it's the final day of the season!)
Shabina Athkar (Haley) is off to BBC Radio Oxford, to be their answer to Danny Kelly soon, in fact this is her last week at WM, with her final Les Ross bulletin being 11 am this morning.
(She might even be on the train next week too, minus hubby & brat!)
Talking of Danny Kelly, tomorrow's show is scheduled to have Chris Tarrant as a guest.
Wonder if he'll turn up, bearing in mind current news about his private life?
Fingers crossed, you could also find out via the web archive later, as Danny's show is archived there for 24 hours or so!
michael collie presented politics show midlands this afternoon - was a bit of a hark back to the old midlands at westminster days ... meanwhile bbc asian network's sonia deol is presenting for the rest of the series. interesting.
The left side, they don't usally show it on the camera. The shots still really tight on Central News for some reason, its like they're frightened of showing off their studio.

The website said Nick Watson when I checked the other day!
I didn't see the show though.
Anyone hear the 6am WM news on Monday?
The computer failed so no reports were played out.
Bulletin finished at 0603, 2 mins earlier than usual.
Where was Mollie? In the bog, putting on her eyeliner!
The Express & Star, according to an on air comment by Mollie, due to someone sending her the clipping(I guess only in the Brum edition as it wasn't in my Walsall one!) played up the 'missing radio presenter' angle.
I listened & there was roughly 25 seconds of dead air, then the standard 'Mollie Green on BBC WM' jingle(thanks to Jane France!), then another 20 seconds of dead air, then a breathless Mollie1
'I was in the loo putting on my eyeliner!'
She also told of a visit to the car wash, which included her hitting her head & grazing her elbow, due to misjudging the strength of the jet wash!
One wag texted in to ask 'How was the car wash after she hit her head!'.
Danny Kelly's Tarrant interview was prerecorded so no mention of recent events!
