Bus schedule and more pics.

I suspect the amount of daytrippers to Skeggy from Notts had something to do with why the bus was there on Friday.

It's a bit like London Tonight popping down to Brighton for the day, although I can't see that happening.

Yes, I should have said it was the Central East tour.

They have done these tours before, it seems unlikely but the east coast of Lincs does sometimes pop up on the east mids news and was obviously done for holiday makers rather than the miniscule amount of CNE viewers in Skeg (if any at all)

CNE does editorially cover the administrative county of Lincs (although it nearly always pinches Calendar's reports from the previous day). However most people north of Sleaford pick up Calender from Belmont I should think.

i would imagine the bus is shared between east and west given that neither programme uses it everyday?

Oh, right.

Fair enough, there's only physically one bus then.

What I really meant (but didn't make clear Embarassed ) was that I thought it would be odd if the bus was shown on both sub-regional programmes every day, visiting locations from both sub-regions in all cases. I didn't realise that each sub-regional version of the programme only involved the bus on certain days respectively, rather than every single weekday across the board.

So a new subregion for Central South West.

Will there be an opt-out during CNW?

I can't really believe much of that article.

A new, extra Central sub-region? Really? Shocked

I thought pretty much all of the Ridge Hill area was going to join forces with ITV Bristol, with only northern parts of Herefordshire (rather than the entire county) joining ITV Birmingham?

I also wouldn't credit the notion that an area consisting of solely some/all of Herefordshire warrants having its own news sub-region (not even a part-time one, a la Calendar South etc).

I bet it'll be just an ADVERTISING sub-region, but one single version of CNwest will continue to serve the whole area (i.e. current CNwest area + Herefordshire).

Although, even as an advertising-only sub-region, "just Herefordshire" is still too small to justify, surely? Presumably there'll be some reassigning of "relays", so that the "Central South West" area will include, say, much of Worcestershire too, to make it worthwhile.

Ex Travel West Midlands Mark One Metrobus 2086 if I'm not mistaken.

Part of the second batch purchased by WMPTE in 1979/1980!

TWM withdrew the last of the Mark Ones a couple of years back I think.

(Removes bus spotting hat, in case he turns into the bus spotters version of Les Ross!)

Jimmy Franks back from illness & doing a double shift today too!

He sat in for Danny Kelly as well as doing the Late Show!

Bit of WM Bank holiday prog news.

Mollie's doing breakfast on Monday 6 till 9,so no 'Early Show', with 5 Live thru till 6am.

Doolan no longer does bank hols thesedays, so I suspect Chinnie 9 till 12, & the Scouser 12 till 2, then Sport till 6.

I know there is a repeat of some prison documentray at point on the evening too.

I'll be very surprised if Keithy Boy doesn't get a slot at some point over the Bank holiday.

Now a bit of news concerning the first lady of BBC Midlands News.

Kay Alexander has been named the Brum Assay Office's first female chairman in it's 233 year history.

She's been involved with the Assay office since 1996, becoming a non executive director in 2000 & appointed to the British Hallmarking Council in 2004.

More on the Birmingham Mail website probably.

Anyone remember the slogan on Beacon Radio's old bus?

Was it something along the lines of 'Sorry we are not picking up any passengers today, but we are picking up loads of new listeners every day' ?

Reminds me of Ian Wood's intro to his late-lamented weekend evening show "Welcome to the radio show where it's okay to know too much about buses" Mind you that Wesley Smith's just as bad Laughing
