Interesting to see Sharuna Saga on Look North (East & Cumbria) - has she left Midlands Today?

I'm trying to rack my brain for the last time I saw her on MT, & I can't think when, unless I'm confusing her with Satnam. (One or the other did brekky last week!)

Hope she hasn't left, because she looks quite fit IMHO !

Talking of Asian/Indian presenter/reporters, has Shabina Akthar (Haley)definetely left BBC Brum, as she has not been on the WM weekend bulletins for ages?

Eve Jackson, ex Midlands Today hack & quite fit too IMO, now working on WM news by the way!

James Wright presenting Central News today. Has he done any news presenting for Central News or Wales News before, does anyone know? Rolling Eyes

Incidentally, what's with the rolled eyes?! Confused I hope it isn't a slight against the charismatic Mr Wright. Jez and I may have to slap your ankles if it is Laughing Wink

He has some sparkle and wit about him, which contrasts with some miserable newsreaders you ocassionaly get!

I'd like to see more of him!! Cool

For a change, I flicked on the afternoon show that goes out on Sundays between 3 & 6 on Stoke, Hereford & Worcester & the feed I was listening to, Shropshire.

Noticed, on Shropshire at least, they are now able to 'insert' the local Shropshire news jingle prior to the regional (from Birmingham) bulletin, but come back out with the 'BBC In The Midlands' jingle they always used to use.

Why are they so half a***ed with the presentation ?

Tonight's MT so far.

'Mastermind' spoof! Laughing

Has Joanne Writtle 'ate all the pies' or is she with child?

Anyone see Thursday's MT ?

Tony Butler was showing off his World Cup jacket, that a 'lucky' WM listener can win eventually!

Friday's CN (W) was presented from the Gas Street garden & the Brum fanpark.

Emma did the weather dressed in a referee's 'fat suit' ! Rolling Eyes

What can CN (E) do, in a similar situation?

Nothing I guess, seeing if they went in the garden, everybody would know it's Brum, not Nottingham!

And finally, I've been so hot today, I've been 'sweating like an Amazonian gibbon', to quote Mollie! Laughing

its just like the old days this evening with central news being on at 6.25, although quite why its not at 6.00 i don't know. would have made more sense to keep central at 6.00 and itn at 6.30 unless absolutely necessary.

nice to see bbc mids presenting from the terrace late last week.

Tonight's MT, Er why 2 presenters for a 15 min approx show, plus sports bloke & Shefali?

Les Ross is off for 3 weeks, & he's off on the trains! (I think Mollie did say recently that she would be covering for him)

I'm off this week, but I managed to catch Mollie's 2nd hour, with the metal detecting, doze off during Goldie, & catch most of Doolan, apart from a quick flick to the 'Talking A**e' on TalkSport.

God he is excitable isn't he, but was it responsible to use '*******' at 1130am, even though he was describing a padeo?

quite. i presume this is because they cant put out the regionals on bbc two, its 15 minutes or nothing on bbc one. almost excusable in england - but (whilst i dont agree with most of the whinging from the provinces about the world cup) it must be very frustrating for viewers outside england.

surely they could have shunted the 2nd half of usa vs czech rep to bbc two. hats off to central who seem to be giving viewers full programmes where poss, even if they are at odd times.

talking of which - here's bob on the central trailer explaning about the odd times.

The nations though can opt on BBC TWO digital, so a bit of creative scheduling could have let them do something perhaps?
