Did you spot the cock up TVM? A report introduced as being done by Sharuna Sagar, turned out to be by David Gregory!(I know he comes across a bit camp, but even I spotted that one!)

Why do women go out half naked anyway? Never really worked that out!

What a contrast between Emma North & that woman GP in their winter woolies & young girls going in a bit of string! Smile

Did he ever do any work for it ?

I know Butler did, because he used to do a sports show on there.

ISTR Telewest Black Country never took the Butler show until late in L!VE's life either.

Birmingham L!VE was confined to Brum Cable customers wasn't it?

Does anyone think that if it had been West Midlands L!VE & went out on Telewest Black Country as well, it might've lasted a bit longer ?

(Mind you I still miss the Weather in Norweigan meself. Where are Eva & Anne Marie thesedays? Wasn't there another bird that did it originally & had to leave for some reason?)

My verdict on Janice Long. She'll do ! At least it ain't Gaunt !

It did go slightly pear shaped near the top of the show, with the Echo & The Bunnymen CD failing mid song!

(Yes I did say Echo & The Bunnymen. On BBC WM. You know. BBC Local Radio !)

I tried listening to Danny Kelly yesterday at work, for a change, but the boss turned him off !

Tomorrow (& probably next Friday 13th too!), it's 'The Other Side Of Keith Middleton' !

Hmm we've all been a bit quiet lately, haven't we ?

One thing that hasn't been reported on, has been the new twisty MT graphic sting thing, thats replaced the MT with web site address sting.

The Midlander of the Year 2005 award was won by the Staffs regiment boys.

Can't think of anything else telly wise, so onto radio & Doolan was off on Thursday, being subbed by Trish AdontDont & talikng of Doolan, this Sunday at 12pm(repeated next Friiday 8pm I hope!), it's Joe Pasquale.

(By the way, I know a song that will get on your nerves ! Laughing Sorry couldn't resist!)

I think next week will be Mina Anwar!

By the way, was anyone listening to Franksy today around 430 & was singing / dancing along to 'Amarilo' ? He was asking for calls, texts etc!

Finally let's all be nice to Mr Owen, as Luton's just been beaten by Wolves at the Molineux.

(Apparantly he's been down tonight as well !)

(TV M, I know it's a bit late now, but are you doing a 2005 review, like you did for 2004 ?)

Hmm, let's put this post of mine in the 'Hmm interesting, bearing in mind where else he works' department !

Today's 'Sunday Mercury' letters page has a comment from one Reverend Mervyn Roberts of Bishops Tachbrook, regarding BRMB's wedding thing.

'BRMB has put Birmingham on the broadcasting map of Britain yet again - for all the wrong reasons.

The repetition of the 2 strangers & a wedding campaign has given Brum the reputation of being the home of ' gutter radio .

As a media man myself, I can appreciate that in a commercially driven envirionment, new ideas are essential.

This is an old one & finds BRMB living up to it's name - Blatantly Ruining Martial Bliss '

Mervyn, correct me if I'm wrong, still does BBC C&W Sunday God slot, doesn't he ?

I don't know what to think on this one meself.

Initially I thought sour grapes from a rival presenter on a rival station, but surely I'm wrong on that view!

sadly not westy - not an awful lot happened last year really did it Confused

must admit i haven't seen central news over the weekend - have they given a preview of the new look, because as we well know - central used to like to get maximum mileage from trailing even the most minor tweak.

The New studio lighting is much better...a hint of yellow light enhances the studio near the small plasma's!

The new Logo is great and the music has been enhanced slightly with some electronic sounding bleeps at the start!

The weather has new opening graphics although the maps have replaced ITV Central with just ITV Weather.

The biggest change is the large plasma! No more Gas Street Basin!!! Instead we have a live shot of Birmingham City Centre a little like the BBC used to have! Much better shot in my opinion!

The endcap has changed too...no longer is Central News "An ITV Central Production"... we now have "ITV Productions" as the endcap!

Yes, the new view in the "window" is a more much recognisable shot of Brum - the famous skyline, including the BT Tower and The Rotunda.

I guess it must now be a pre-recorded artistic shot, like most other ITVplc regions have. I imagine that the only reason the view of Gas Street Canal Basin was able to be live, was because the camera was on the roof of the ITV Central building itself.

I doubt that ITVplc would want permenant webcams installed on random buildings, away from actual ITV buildings, as they wouldn't be so accessible for maintenence etc. I always assumed that this is the reason why most regions have pre-recorded views.

i.e. Pretty much none of the ITV buildings are in locations that overlook the most recognisible view of their respective cities. By the same token that the Tyne Bridges are *THE* view of Newcastle to have, the new CNwest backdrop is pretty much *THE* view of Brum to have.

So, does that mean that now only London Today has a live view?

By the way, the "window" is a rear-projection screen, not a plasma.

Why is a story from Melton Mowbray featuring on tonight's Central West? This is completely out of the area... not even an overlap.

It would be like Central South running a Birmingham story.

Erm, I'm watching Inside Out, for a change .

Any idea when that Tolkein report was taped?

Everybody seemed to be in summery type clothes, apart from Toyah Willcox, who was wearing a pair of gloves.

Toyah doesn't suffer from Raynards(the can't stand the cold affliction, I gather from my cousin, who also suffers!), does she?

(Claim to fame on behalf of the sister in law, by the way. She says she went to the same school as Toyah !)

Ofcom complaint thing after Inside Out now.

Has somebody been naughty?
