I suffered through Snoddy's horrid show this morning. What a load of crap the newspaper man was talking - his argument was clearly drivvel.

I don't even see why Newswatch exists - it has to invent problems with the news to actually exist.

Snoddy is one of the most annoying people on this planet and the content of his show's, well, there "some'at else"; to coin a familar phrase.

The thing is, there's no point in Newswatch. All the issues people find annoying are only explained, not rectified.

On a seperate note they haven't sorted out the six headline bed yet, that's surely been mentioned?

Don't be stupid, that would require a degree of knowledge of how a TV news bulletin works.

There is a point to News Watch. Hutton.

Most of the items in the Black Country slot were about football, although the ident made in West Bromwich high street more than made up for it.

I hope they have more variety in stories in future!

Changing the subject slightly from local TV. I see that the set on Central News South has been changed. A darker shade of blue used for the background closer to the colour of the regional generic set. I'd say it wouldn't be long before we get the generic set as we're the only region left!

are Central News South in a temporary studio, as i noticed in this morning, they went straight to a close up of Hannah, rather than a wide shot Confused

Considering that CNwest were the very first non-London ITVplc to convert to the proper generic set, I expected that all versions of Central News would fairly quick to have the set change. Clearly, CNeast's set change was always gonna be dependant on when the relocation to Brum could happen. But I am really surprised that CNsouth is the very last ITVplc region to convert.

If you'd have asked me, say, 18 months ago, I'd have bet money on Border and/or ITV West being last.

It does look like CNSouth are going to the Generic Style Set shortly...as they are the only region left!

One thing I would wish for though (as all the regions generic sets are going to change in January) on the CNWest Bulletins I wish they would add the 20 second end music to the programme (a la London Tonight and Granada Reports). Or are we going to get new music as well?

Plus, I know this was mentioned a short while ago on this forum, but could CNWest please get their Studio Lighting right (and keep it that way). The light turquoise blue lighting which occurs occasionally is a bit hard on the eyes!

In case no one's looked at the Beeb press office web site :

In other words, Gaunty's replacement.

By the way, has the prat been dumped from CWR completely now, because Radio Times is listing Trish AdontDont on Saturdays now.

A quick look at the Xmas schedules now & Wincey Willis(TVAM/mate of Nick Owen) is covering CW Boxing Day & Holiday Tuesday breakfast.

Wm - Les is off Xmas Eve, being covered by 'me Daz Hale', , no footy either(Nick Piercey covering)

Can I assume any Bob Brolly show listed is still be covered by other people while he's still off?

From 18/12 through till 30/12, Doolan is on every day, in some form!

Mollie is normal(I realise, to regular listeners, such as myself, that is a matter of opinion! What's the betting that comment ends up at B1 1RF, in some form! Laughing ), apart from Boxing Day & Holiday Tuesday.

OMG I saw Joanne Malin walking down Broad Street today and nearly fainted. Isn't her hair red - ooh I say! Magnificent colour anyway - nice clothes and accessories too. STALKER ALERT OVER Very Happy

Smile Hello Members !,

I am writing to ask is Is Central News South broadcasting from a different location, the reason being because on my television the picture doesn't seem as bright & clear on the screen, Have they changed the lighting in the studio or something ?.

Also whilst on the subject of the studio, Is ITV 1 Central News South not going to have a generic version of the ITV News studio like the other regions have ?.

I look forward to your replies,

Thank You !. Confused:

Crying or Very sad Hello Members !,

I am writing to ask the reason being why Central News East hasn't got a generic version of the ITV News backdrop behind the presenters like the other regions have ?.

The other regions have a live or recorded backdrop of the city where they are broadcasting from I. E. BIRMINGHAM etc, So why have we got a cheap looking tacky cardboard cutout instead of a view of NOTTINGHAM or another East Midlands city.

It is bad enough that our regional ITV studios in NOTTINGHAM were closed down, But then they haven't even got the decency to give us a decent regional ITV News backdrop, Also why don't they project the ITV 1 Central News logo onto the studio floor like the other regions ?.

Why is only the front half of the desk illuminated, To save on yet more costs ?.

I look forward to your replies.

Thank You !.
