Bit of WM news now,

Wednesday night in Solihull saw 'Ed Doolan and Friends', featuing the likes of Jimmy Franks(WM Late Show presenter), Mollie Green(WM Early Show presenter), Nick Owen(no explanation needed), Jon Gaunt(WM Saturday presenter/C&W weekday breakfast presenter) & Les Ross(WM weekend presenter)

(According to Mollie, Gaunt was funny. Must put that in the diary !)

Due to that & other commitments, there were presenter changes on both regional radio & television on Wednesday/Thursday.

Mike Collie was in for Nick on MT on Wednesday, along with Shefali in for Suzanne as well.(Thursday was Nick & Shefali, but who did Friday as I was listening to 'Dead Ringers' on R4?)

Jimmy Franks was off after the show (I think), so I think Nikki Tapper was subbing on both Wednesday & Thursday.

Mollie was off Thursday, so 'Keithy Boy' Middleton was on Early Show duties then, even answering phones & reading emails, which Mollie never does, before 6am!

Don't know about Gaunt.

Mollie's prize today was a Marianne Faithful DVD. Someone asked who she was. Jane France said she used to go around with the Rolling Stones, which prompted some wag to mention Mars bars on the text.

Another wag(not me. I couldn't be a**ed!) texted in response to Mollie's comment that she made her own Xmas presents (or something. Can't remember), mentioning Blue Peter annuals & telling her to 'Get a life' , to which Mollie's answer was 'Get Stuffed' !

Me, I was laughing my socks off Laughing

Spotted by my boss yesterday in Wolverhampton, at the continental market, which was crap I gather, was the lovely Cayte Walker broadcasting, I guess during the Doolan show.

My boss reckoned she looked rough, mind you after nearly 10 years of getting up early, I suppose that's unavoidable, plus she's 'knocking on' a bit. (I think she's 36 this November, the same day as WM. She's a year older than the station ISTR)

(Mollie's only 30, for the record & bonkers too!)

According to Big Al Miller's site, he's got C&W earlies for the rest of the year, so what's happened to the Talent presenter they were banging on about?

Doolan did the 'Other Side Of' Ashley Blake today.(Hopefully repeated this Friday at 8pm!)

Liked his anecdote about being caught up in the Handsworth riots in the 1980's, when he was involved with the St John's Ambulance people.

He was returning from a meeting, when he found a line of police coming down the road, gesturing him to come towards them.

He looked back, to find people throwing bottles at him, because they thought he was police himself.

Keith Mddleton in for Les yesterday, due to another train trip, but Les was back today.

surprised to see bernadette kearney presenting midlands breakfast this morning, and even more surprised to see her presenting the lunchtime bulletin.

she was fab, just like the old days. i wonder if she is covering for somebody off sick, or if this is a come-back for berne. Confused

Aww, that's a name that brings back fond memories of growing up in the Midlands!

Whilst on the subject (kind of), does anyone know the whereabouts of Diane Kemp these days? Any information on Sebastiana Belfon would also be greatfully appreciated, if only due to the fabness of her name.
