It's the reception of their old Broad Street building, which is pretty much left as it was.

A couple more Broad Street studio images from the Crossroads Appreciation Society tour of the building earlier this month:

Also includes a photo of the studios from the 1980s when they were in use. The place was being used to store more recent stuff, such as CITV photos and a few old Central news bits and bobs. The store room was full of goodies such as presenter cards, keyrings and cups ect. But the Crossroads fans cleared the place of anything worth keeping. It still had a lot of old equiptment in the place too. Also interesting to note a skip in Studio 1's loading bay full of awards and Central items all from before Carlton took over. Goes to show what they thought of Central's past.

That's the reception/security desk, which no-one wanted as if you look very carefuly to the right of the Central 'cake' logo, still has it's lot number from the auction of the equipment and fixtures and fittings held after the move to Gas Street.

There are monitors, mixers, cables and other such things with lot numbers on inside the building. If you ask nicely, they might let you have it. Or the 20 or so film cans still full of film in the basement. I would ring the newsroom, ringing the reception gets you nowhere. Say your from the Central News fan club and you want to take some photos and they let you in. Laughing

So Broad Street has just been left as it was then, with no new owners using it for anything?

What sort of branding does Gas Street carry? Still Carlton colour scheme?

It's branded as ITV Central now, complete with large blue and yellow signs.

I think Central have use of the building until December, as I say at the moment they're using it for storage. The studios are pretty much empty, but every so often you'll find a room that has "things" in it. There were a pile of computer monitors in one area. (looked quite modern ones too) The guy did say to take what we wanted as the stuff was just going to be left for the demolition people.

Strange to see film cans on their own - surely they would be in the main Central/ATV archive, or with the BFI?

Apparently the film cans left behind have things on them that are not of any use.

Another visit to ATV Centre/Central House is being planned. Anyone interested should pop to the ATV Website forum www.atvwebsite.co.uk and register your interest in visiting.

I would say any Central News fans should pop along there are a lot of Central News items in the building (promo cards, pictures and leaflets ect)
