TVM, is there any footage of CWR on Breakfast knocking about, because I missed it/forgot to set the tape ?

Like how WM is using the TOTH in conjunction with the travel jingle.
embarrassingly i forgot to set the vid too Embarassed interesting to note the jostling for position that went on prior to the launch - about who would be THE first voice. somebody who shall remain nameless, for the sake of this post we shall call her "mrs o." Wink insisted she was the big name and voice of the station. i didn’t listen in the end so i didn’t get to hear who won.

oh and lets not even start on how much it cost them to come up with the name "bbc coventry and warwickshire".

and notice the new complete on-air ban on the words "accross the west midlands and warwickshire" and "bbc wm and bbc coventry and warwickshire" during shared programming. its now "on the bbc". sounds v. odd.

nice to see MT doing most of the show with satnam, peter and shefali from the roof of the bbc horsefair car park this evening.

Hmm.

I tuned in for a look at 10 last night & I heard, via DAB, the generic West Mids news jingle(the one that goes out on Shrops,Stoke & H&W at this time of night)but Daz Hale & Mike Taylor were live on location I noticed so whether that was normal now I don't know, followed by the standard 'BBC WM with Jimmy Franks' & also during the first few minutes, the standard WM phone number jingle.

Are the Mailbox still splitting jingles?

How different are the CWR jingles from WM's? Are they using the same melody or a different one?

I must admit a few years back, I did get a very dodgy signal on 103.7 once, & ISTR one jingle went 'BBC Coventry & Warwickshire - The sound of Coventry !' & this was during a Chris Ashley drivetime from Pebble Mill !

I noticed that there was a few problems with Freeview the other night. Channels been taken off air and sound going missing.
Although it has been known that Freeview loses MT completly. Usually ending up with BBC London. Most annoying.

Nice to see the studio used widly again the other night. Robin Punt in the "Newsroom" with a peice on Petrol and then Suzanne over at the giant screen, then Shef from the roof. Although the weather graphics are really starting to annoy me now, namly as North of Shrewsbury apparently doesn't exist....

Yeah MT really seem to be having a lot of trouble going into and coming out of the weather in terms of graphics.

Sometimes the location and live astons are taken off, then suddenly re-appear, or are just completely ignored.

Then on other occasions, the blue live dog appears, disappears for the weather map to come in and then appears again - why!?!?

I think they realise it's a shambles - they're definetly experimenting with various graphics combinations - although none seem to have paid off yet.

The other very annoying thing is the contact telephone number and programme time writing that suddenly appears at the end of the weather report by accident.

Mind you, what would MT be without a few graphics cock-ups?

It's in the main gallery, which is normally free.

I've found the reports on Central News interesting too - good to see Mike Prince again - and he looks just the same!

On another point, I was driving along Pershore Road today and saw the last sorry stump of Pebble Mill Sad

'From There to Here - 50 Years of ITV in the Midlands'

From 15th September 2005, ITV Central in association with Birmingham City Council will be staging a special exhibition which commemorates 50 years of commercial broadcasting in the region.

The exhibition, entitled 'From There to Here - 50 years of ITV in the Midlands' will document the region's social history through a mix of archive footage, photographs and artefacts. The exhibits will take the form of viewing areas which will be themed and will cover such areas as Development, Personalities, Communities, Industry, Advertising and, of course, all the major news stories that have been told by ITV over the last half a century.

Visitors will be able to see how the region has changed since the 1950s through material on the regeneration of Birmingham; take a look at the personalities that have made an impact over the years and see a 'back-catalogue' of many old advertisements and promotional films, as well as many more evocative and emotive images.

The exhibition will also include a studio area where members of the public can experience first-hand what it is like to be a Central News presenter, with their images then projected on to one of the large screen in the gallery.

The exhibition will take place at the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, Chamberlain Square and will run until mid-November 2005.

It's looking brilliant - I'm tempted to get the train down there from skegness especially to see it!

I hope some video captures do appear of this weeks features, as I was relying on the super secret itv news download site, but it seems to have been abandoned.

YAY! Now there's an idea - how about a Central West and BBC Midlands outing? Me, Stu, tvmercia and Westy - and we'll all go and do our best Bob Warman impressions at the exhibition.

Umm - Nice slight of hand by Central on this one.
This still was during the Tommy Boyd CITV pre-recorded links era. Which if memory serves me correctly were one month in a day pre-recorded at Molinaire in London and not Birmingham.

The links were played out from Broad Street to the network though, but it's tenuios connection to say the least.
