Hello !,

Why Does Central News Have A Live Picture Behind The Presenter On GMTV Bulletins, But The Rest Of The Bulletins Througout The Day Have A Dark Blue Blackground With A Few Squares On, Is This A Projection Screen Behind The Presenter Or Something, Because To Me It Looks Like A Cheap Tacky Piece Of Cardboard, I Look Forward to Your Comments TV Forum Members.

The GMTV bulletins are pan-regional, so they come from the Central West studio which has a projection screen, and are shown in all three Central sub-regions.

The Central East studio (adjacent to the Central West one at Gas Street) doesn't have a projection screen, so you get the tacky static backdrop on the sub-regional output.

PS - you only need to use a capital letter for the first letter of the first word in every sentence, and also for proper names like Central News or Birmingham.

Thank You LONDONER !, Do you or any other Members Know If Central News East has any plans to introduce a projection screen behind the Presenters in the Future ?, Also why does Central News West have a projection screen yet East hasn't, Surely the East studio was the last to be built, So you would of thought that they would have more latest up to date equipment & technology than west. Plus why does Central News West have a wide shot of the studio with Central News projected onto the studio floor yet the one next door I. E. East hasn't, I look forward to other members views on this subject, If it wasn't bad enough that they close our NOTTINGHAM Studios, They haven't even got the the decency to give us a half decent studio, I've also not seen a Sports Presenter In the Studio for a while, Have they done away with this as well ???.

the central news east studio is slightly smaller, so it cannot accomodate a back projection screen.

Anyone seen the BBC Coventry & Warwickshire listings in the RT ?

Why have they got a programme from 7am to 7pm Tuesday to Friday called 'Coventry & Warwickshire's Rock n Roll Years' ? (If I/Radio Times is correct?)

Is this similar to what Beacon did in 1997? A rolling prog full of recorded stuff?

Why not just simulcast WM for the final week, with joint news bullys?

Out of curisocity, would there have been a spare studio at the Mailbox, to provide a temporary CWR service for next week, to broadcast on those frequencies, if they had thought about it, or is all the spare space taken up for the other network services eg Asian Network?

Anyone seen the studio webcam yet?

wm have 3 studios, 2 of which can be presenter driven, the other is just a talk studio (ie the one that ed uses) wm flip flop between the studios, so the next presenter is preparing in the adjacent studio, whilst the other is still on air.

asian network have 2 studios.

radio 2,4 and 5 have a few studios upstairs whilst radio 4 also have the drama studio.

although it'd be a squeeze i guess they could have managed to produce the output here in birmingham - and of course there's the bbc wolverhampton radio studio, no doubt the effort required to decamp temporarily is better spent on making sure the launch goes smoothly. also the show looks like it could be a "barker" type affair, endlessly plugging to ppl that tune in the fact the the all new cwr is coming soon.

(Must fly. I'm retuning to Saga & listening to Andy Marriott's Tv theme programme from now until 10pm!)
