no i've seen the inside of both the radio drama and midlands today studios on many occasions in the past. hope some of you central west and bbc midlanders went down for a look.

interesting rumours emanating from the watercoolers, well, flavoured, chilled, britta filtered water dispensers at bbc bham regarding possible expansion of the beeb's space at the mailbox, it'll be interesting to see if that whisper has any truth associated with it. however, the plan (or rumoured plan) hinges on another organisation's decision. i shall say no more.

Im I right in syaing that BBC Coventry and Warwickshire radio is coming back. It sort of desloved into BBC WM a few years ago, and I have seen a few logos here and there , its like the good old days... I know they have opened that new open space in Cov, and looking for presenters. So is the station coming back?

Surly BBC Midlands is the best region in the UK .... has to be...

In a word ... Yes !

Mind you I'm out of the transmission area, so I can't listen unless I go online !

Gaunty is the breakfast host unfortunately.

You have to feel sorry for the Cov & Warks listeners.

5 days a week of Gaunt.

I can only stick half an hour on a Saturday meself!

And trailers are now running for "BBC Coventry & Warwickshire" after Midlands Today.

The official launch is on Saturday 3rd September in time for the Coventry festival of motoring in Priory Place.

Although there's Jon Gaunt (Come now Westy...it could have been worse...) - there is the most wonderful Liz Kershaw doing drivetime which is excellent. And I'm really looking forward to hearing Will Hanrahan at the weekends too.

Sadly resident dullards Annie Othen and Bob Brolly are staying with the station. I'd rather have network Doolan myself.

What's worse than Gaunt? People I know used to go on about Doolan's ego, but at least he's the 'consumer champion' & people like him!

(I would like to know what Beech's long term plans for the Doolan slot would be, because Ed cannot go on forever, & would the consumer slot continue. I would hope personally Goldie gets the slot, as he's worked with the 'Ginger Witch', & he might be ready for a change!)

What's Gaunt's claim to fame? Writing a few episodes of 'Emmerdale' apparantly, & some theatre in Coventry that went bust!

Alan Miller, the travel bloke, is doing the C&W early show for the first few weeks, according to his website, & he was a guest on Mollie's show this morning too.

According to a trail I heard, Herr Flick's latest flick through the recently axed presenters section of his contacts book, is ex Heart Fm's Nick Piercey. Never listen to Heart on a regular basis, so I don't know what he's like!

He's doing Monday lunchtime this week coming.

The fact that Will Hanarahan has a slot on BBC C&W may give a clue or two on that matter - esp. as Will was the consumer man on Good Morning with Anne and Nick, and has also reported for Watchdog.

Co-incidence? Wink
