Thanks for all the photos and information. Loving the look of studio C, but studio B looks awful. Hopefully that's just down to its state of completion.

Whereas Studio B has a main desk that elevates from coffee table height to normal desk height according to the need.

Wow, this is amazing, thanks so much for sharing.

I love that London background on Studio C. Will it be used for World News programs? Such a nice background could compensate for losing a real newsroom view.

Studio B confuses me, still can't imagine it properly, feels like there are 2 or 3 similar sets all connected.

Yes, thanks for sharing, Louis. This is all fascinating stuff. Wondering why World needs to use two different studios, though.

I'm not complaining. LOL.

BBC London's current studio is converted public/retail space and only has temporary planning permission to be used as a studio until mid-2013. (full details on Westminster council's planning sit if you can be bothered to look!). It's unlikely they will get a further extension of this to use the space as a permanent studio.

Thanks for sharing this, bbclouis. Some fascinating pictures and technical information.

The camera tracks are an excellent idea for Studios C & E in view of the circular design of the set. That's going to produce some interesting opening/closing shots, although I wouldn't like to be standing in the way when one of those was on the move! Shocked

I'm sure it's been mentioned before, but is that a projected background behind the main desk in Studio C?

Studio B looks huge and versatile.

Indeed, thanks very much for this! No doubt this will answer many questions, for a start.

Studio C is probably my favourite. That London backdrop looks lovely, and in general, so does the rest of the studio! Studio B also looks interesting, and in 'Newsnight' mode very impressive!

The two areas to either side of the main building are the two ends of the horseshoe shape of the building, the one on the left is obviously Old Broadcasting House, one on the right I believe is called the Peel Wing.

Presumably it's the BBC London offices, radio & tv studios and galleries. According to our generous insiders, BBC London's TV operations will likely move to Studio D (which was originally allocated to them), but the TV gallery, radio station and offices will remain where they are now.

BBC Persian have been broadcasting from the Peel Wing for quite some time now. Their window view is onto All Souls Church . . .

BBC Arabic occupy the two floors below, and whilst they don't have a live window view, they have this very nice CGI recreation of a mezzanine:

Those studios are quite nice! Particularly like the CGI extension!
