New BBC South East Set

Beautiful music, sounds very World News 2000, two shot looks very NC. The desk looks polished and as new. Very nice.

Only a new title sequence and headline bed. The sting is the same.

The whole set is very News 24. They do need a new Lightwell backdrop.

Is that big screen the Barcos from N8 by any chance?

I just seeing the big screen now and I am very impressed with the look of it.

If the BBC were to reform most of their studios this way it would like a very modern news output like what ITV Regional News is doing now apart from the different colour schemes for each broadcaster.

It is, but in that picture so are all the graphics so it looks washed out. The 'newsroom' background on the monitors has much more colour and depth to it, so it looks nicer normally, but I don't think it would have done any harm to light the areas above the monitors in red.

Overall I think the set is quite nice and certainly a better use of the space they have compared to the old set. I think the new video screen is perhaps a bit too much, it's much bigger than it needs to be (at least on SET) and unfortunately the slightly fuzzy picture quality (like Millbank) is still present.

Very horrid BBC News box!

Nice set but moving into winter it could do with a little more red for warmth. Disapointed they have not done anything about the soft picture quality.

Shame they didn't opt to use the new NBH BBC News logo that's much smaller. I do like the set and music though!
