So you guys in the UK are getting NDTV as part of a basic package, or perhaps even FTA? Unbelievable. Here in the US, if you want anything from outside the US borders, you have to pay for it. Moronically, DirecTV has placed NDTV 24x7 in the HindiDirect Package (available for the low low price of $29.95/month), even though it is an ENGLISH language channel. There is a hindi version of the channel, NDTV India, that would be more suited for a package aimed at Hindi speakers. Or you can buy the channel a la carte for $15 a month. Ridiculous. This is why nobody in the US sees anything from outside the US, because instead of giving out something that would garner interest from many viewers, providers choose to stifle demand by extracting higher fees from a few customers, which provide high profit with little cost to them.

NDTV will launch by the end of the year - I think - in the US on satellite platform Direct TV. There was an article about this.

This was airing on one of the SAT channels whilst I was in Sri lanka last week - their set looks very much like BBC N24, having opted for the same red plastic and semi-opaque panelling and strapping in the background.

The content is quite good, IMO.
