Launched today on Sky Digital channel 543, it's an english speaking news channel from India, but the presentation is well worth a look, especially the breakfiller before the top of the half hour, I believe it's created by David Lowe is this true?

It is very good indeed. It's the top news channel in South East Asia so I hear and digs for the best stories. Maybe they should consider hiring British/Western Asian newsreaders, it would certainly improve the flow of the program.

Maybe in South Asia, certainly not SE Asia when CNA is the top news channel outside of CNN/BBC.

It's the top news channel in India. NDTV stands for New Delhi Television. They provided news for Star TV until that arrangement fell apart in 2004, when NDTV went at it alone and launched their own channel, which became a huge success, and for good reason. If anyone is interested in the wonderful themes created by David Lowe which they play at the top of the hour, message me.

Now does NDTV do as compared with Star News in India. Given that NDTV broadcasts in English and Star News in Hindi, doesn't Star News get better ratings?

Correction: NDTV is the #1 English News Channel in India. National news channels in India surprisingly are numerous, around 8 broadcast nationwide at the moment, split halfway between English and Hindi. NDTV is 2nd overall I believe. BTW, for those who don't know, Hindi is only spoken natively in the northern parts of India, and as such English is the unifying language throughout the country.

Oh, no wonder even the questions on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire on Star Plus are in English

Why is NDTV in the main news section of the Sky EPG when excellent news channels like Star News and (especially) DWTV are buried away in the 800s?
