Shaun, do you ever actually watch any TV broadcast in the UK? You seem to spend all your time watching programmes from the US and Oz Laughing Laughing

It is edited. In the States it's a 3 hour show, Seven show 2 hours of it.

Presumably what the Aus stations are showing must be the appropriate bits of a west coast feed, possibly with a one hour delay but otherwise as live. No one is going to stump-up the cost of editing this stuff, surely?

The main part of the Today Show is still the 2 hours from 7-9. That's the bit that's presented by Matt Lauer and Meredith Vieira.

After 9, things get a bit random and much more 'lifestyle'. Normally Anne Curry (newsreader) and Al Roker (weatherman) do more of the presenting, with an completely new presenter popping up.

And then it's all change again for the 10-11 hour, with yet more presenters - and some of it even comes from a different set on the floor above the main studio - but still overlooking Rockefeller Plaza.

When the whole thing ends at 11, it's a very different show from the one that started at 7!

The Today show anchor Meredith Vieira has been in London this week co-hosting the show and doing the royal thing including touring Buckingham Palace and interviewing Prince Andrew. I love how the Americans see our Royal Family and how they seem to love everything about them.

On a different note, I love the Today show and watch it whenever I get the chance. The show has such history behind it comparible to Blue Peter in this country, although they have moved with the times the general idea of the show has remained the same for 56 years. I wish GMTV today could adopt more from this and have a wider mix of features. If you ever visit New York try and get along to view the outside concerts they are fab.

I agree. GMTV should take a leaf out of Today's book, especially in terms of the set.

I'm not sure who does the editing - since it's only shown at 4.00 in the morning I'd imagine they just take out two hours' worth towards the end.

We get the full opener but also all the hosts and so on saying goodbye at the end.
