I’m sure there’ll be plenty of redundant BBC talent for them to hoover up...

Exactly they already have loss-making SkyNews already. It would be interesting to see if those new hires should start popping up across the entire Comcast group of news channels including SkyNews. That way their work doesnt go to waste only being seeing on NBC or CNBC networks.

It's Sky News. Not SkyNews. Sorry. It doesn't look like a Tesco, and it's not written SkyNews.

Well OK, but posters on here used to get flamed (old term) for calling it $ky.

Alright, if it's not a Tesco, what is it...? Deffo not a CoOp!

The proposed (and I really hope it happens) NBC/Universal/Sky News service is

(a) really a good thing for the British economy and the trust status of global news enimating from a London hub.

(b) A good thing for NBC...

(c) a bad thing for ITN - because they are sidelined.

Rather than being a Tesco, perhaps its a Walmart or a Target.... but even so.... a good thing?

(Trebles all around in the Coach and Horses on Syon Lane?)

ITN won’t be sidelined because there’s as much chance of this channel launching as there is of Prof Chris Whitty winning Miss World

An interesting comparison but completely baseless.

Interestingly, NBCUniversal has released a promo featuring Sky News alongside its US brands:

Sky News is also streaming live on NBC's new Peacock streaming service.

This might sound crazy, but could Comcast decide to use the NBC Peacock, as part of a rebrand of Sky? Stranger things have happened when it comes to branding, and honestly, with the peacock already being seen in this country on CNBC, it might be a way to strengthen the branding overall.

There's no chance that will ever happen. Sky is the dominant brand globally.

Wasn't Norman St John Stevas on the catwalk? There used to be an indian resturant in Royston that was obsessed with Miss Anglia!

ITN were in the past very buddy with NBC, now they won't be....

That's why I think they might try to add the peacock to the branding.

I don’t think it’s crazy. I could easily see someone at Comcast wanting to link the brands more closely. And would make sense as there is already so much on air synergy. Especially given they’re meant to be launching a joint channel.

On the other hand I don’t think the NBC peacock logo is really going to work well alongside Sky brand. However adopting the same logo as Peacock streaming might work.

It’s entirely possible it will be included in the NBC Sky World News branding, but it almost certainly won’t be in Sky News’ rebranding
