NBC/Sky Global News.

I pity the team working on that logo.

Also, What’s the big issue in the US with making MSNBC, CNN And Fox available to stream online for free?

So many international channels do it. I am sure the answer is £, but perhaps someone could explain why?

Why does NBC go to all the trouble of setting up NBC News Now as a free streaming service instead of just streaming MSNBC?

It surprises me that during major breaking news on CNN (low bar for them) it’s impossible to stream CNN online without a cable subscription.

I think it's generally to do with the cable carriage contracts.

Agreed, I think it’s something Mr Asso put together.

Off topic but baffling the US networks still think people, even on a premium service, should wait till next day for catch up content to be available. Pretty standard here for recorded shows to be available straight after broadcast.

I believe that time zones play a role here. If a program were made available immediately after its Eastern Time premiere, viewers in the west (let alone Alaska and Hawaii) would be able to watch it hours before it was shown on TV.

I think they should take the Sky News brand to the states. It would come with a clean reputation and a fresh news brand might be just what the market needs in an era of "Fake News"

Sky is mostly unknown here - it may be fresh, and a good name, but NBC has perhaps the strongest brand/visual identity of the Big 3 Networks, so I don't forsee them putting it by the wayside. MSNBC is a daft name, a legacy of its initial launch being a collaboartion between Microsoft's MSN and NBC, but the name has stuck. Apparently the rationale of keeping the MSNBC Name was to distinguish from the mainstream NBC News content from the left-leaning opinion content on MSNBC, but the NBC News name has been reappearing more frequently in recent years and shared presenters (Andrea Mitchell, Chuck Todd, etc) are blurring this distinction.

I could see "NBC Sky" as the name of the global project - put the Sky logo below the peacock and it wouldn't look half bad.

They could go down this route?
