Thinking (I'm doing too much of it), maybe the catfight on Breakfast will be between Kate, Mishal and Susanna, if both Sian and Natasha leave, over who will become the main weekday presenter?
EDIT - Is Anna Ford's contract not ending in the new year anyway, so that would mean that Sian may replace her, leaving all the others fighting for Breakfast?
Isn't also the New Year when Breakfast moves to the N24 studio permanently? If it is then this is what I think may happen:
Breakfast: Simon McCoy and Kate Silverton
One: Sian Williams (Presuming Anna Ford has retired)
Six: Bill Turnbull and Natasha Kaplinsky
Ten: Dermot Murnaghan (Presuming Huw Edwards becomes Political Editor)
However I've got a feeling that Kate Silverton will replace Anna Jones and therefore Mishal Hussein or Sian Williams will take over on Breakfast with Darren Jordan on the One if Sian stays on Breakfast.
Other presenters for the Six could include:
Fiona Bruce
Darren Jordan
Philip Hayton
Peter Sissons
Moira Stuart (maybe more likely if Breakfast moves to N24 then she won't be needed for news summaries)
I do doubt that the 'presenter pool' will actually come to light now.
Like they do with ITN, Should the Beeeb have their BBC1 bulletins on News 24.
No. News programmes on BBC1 are strictly summaries of the days events and bounded by the slot they are given. News 24 is totally different in that it can quickly dump its running order to concentrate on one story for an extended period of time. It may save ITV money, but sharing bulletins between the news channel and ITV1 ruins the news channels flow. It has to suspend its rolling news content, meaning it frequently misses events it has trailed all day such as a news conference etc. One major event I can remember was on the 6th May this year, when the ITVNC cut a speech by Micheal Howard to go to ads before the lunchtime news, therefore totally missing his resignation. It was another 5mins or so before this was mentioned, and no proper comment or analysis could be undertaken because of the time restrictions on ITV1.
Who said that Huw is considering the Political Editor's job? Very unlikely IMO.
((EDIT: BBC JUST ANNOUNCED THAT NICK ROBINSON IS TO BE THE NEW POLITICAL EDITOR, ACCORDING TO ANOTHER POST))
Also, very unlikely that Breakfast would lose two of its main presenters at the same time (in reference to the comments made above about Dermot and Natasha moving over the the Six).
I wouldn't be at all surprised if Moira Stuart gets a move quite soon...........
And perhaps Natasha WILL permanently anchor the Six, but alongside Darren Jordon.
Sian Williams would go to the One O'clock News, and Sophie will join the Ten O'clock News.
In fact..............maybe they're planning to bring back a Nationwide style evening magazine show, hosted by Sophie Raworth???????

And where does this leave Fiona Bruce?
Moira to the weekends?
I would be surprised if Dermot was passed over for a higher profile post.
Well the BBC has just announced that Nick Robinson is to be the new Political Editor. Basically ruling out any move by Huw...
Not so sure on Moira as well, I understood she took Breakfast by her choice, to reduce her hours. But it would be a present surprise to see her back on main stream bulletin's.
I have a feeling that the 6 will be looking for this "youth" connection, appealing to a wider audience etc.. So Dermot...
I sincerly hope Twinkle Toes does get the "gig" full time. She just seems fake and annoying, what ever time of day!
Wild Card idea now, but if they're changing the presenting line-up possibly changes to pres and set could be a foot? Ala The World desk...Very '93...
I doubt Sophie will be back on the six when she returns after matenity leave - there is something else in the pipeline for her... and as for the six - I think you could be surprised as to which pairing will probably end up with the gig.
I will probably be way off the mark, but if this person is a 'surprise', which, I don't think Dermot is, could Eddie Mair be heading for the Six?
