Has Sophie or the BBC announced that she is pregnant?, last time the bbc sent a press statement out.

Bryan Appleyard in the Sunday Times described Natasha as 'simpering' . What a perfectly tailored word that is.

Thought you might like to know Natasha Kaplinsky is going to present the Six O'clock news when Sophie Raworth goes on maternity leave. She's expecting her second child.

Did you realise that an anagram of Sophie Raworth is 'Hot Paris Whore'?

I can't understand people going on about "classic" pairings on the 6 o'clock News and Breakfast. The programmes are as cold and unwelcoming no matter who presents them. Give me Kay Burley and Mark Longhurst any time, at least they can manage a smile every so often.

Dermot Murnaghan and Moira Stuart would be an EXCELLENT pairing on the Six.

I so wish the BBC would realise that Moira is wasted on Breakfast. Anyway, I don't want to do what I normally do, and hijack this and turn it into a Moira thread!!

One thing that used to happen in the "old days" was a regional presenter would be drafted in to cover vacationing and maternity periods at the BBC. I don't see why they can't do that directly, as opposed to routing them via News 24.

For example, Sally Magnusson of BBC Reporting Scotland is also a well known network face, and is highly capable (except that time she had the giggles years ago whilst trying to read the Breakfast News).....why not give some more consideration to good, solid regional anchors, as opposed to the hideous Ms Kaplinsky.....who, is very aptly described by someone above.
