Wasn't Sophie listed in Radio Times to be doing the Six this week? Sian has just done then summary.

Only on Thursday and Friday. Today is Sophie's day off as she worked yesterday.

So what?

You folk who know presenters holiday schedules give the the creeps, and I'm not even the one being stalked.

You can hardly call him a stalker? It's printed in the Radio Times, so at a guess he flicked through some pages.

Guess again. I'm going to suggest that some posters in this thread could name days on/off over the course of the last month for a handful of presenters.

It rather reminds me of what happened to Jill Dando. Its creepy and unneccessary.

Yes cause stalkers look in the radio times! ... Actually the reason it came up was because some people wanted to know if Kaplinsky was due to present this week - not stalk Sophie Raworth! Your just trying to cause problems.

Good lord Gavin, what an active and hyper imagination you have. How the hell can you equate someone who has looked through a tv guide to check whether someone is presenting a news programme to that of what happened to Jill Dando.

You're better off piping down.

Yes I'll be sure to take your advice.

I really don't need to explain what I have observed over several years on this forum.

The Radio Times no more defines when presenters are "on holiday" than how many days they are contracted to work.

Both are printed here as a matter of course by certain members, which is the point my blood runs cold.

It's not who i would have picked to move to five, although i dont think anything or anyone is going to improve five news in terms of ratings.

I was quietly hoping that one or two people might have apologised to me for saying that she finished on Friday, when they totally refused to believe that that fact was, actually, fact.

Are all the Radio Times readers who insisted she'd be on tonight's Six, strangely missing all of a sudden?

Please remember that I was the first to confirm that she said goodbye to the BBC for ever at 18:30 on Friday, yet all I managed to get for my trouble was a flurry of abuse from users (in the plural) and a rather humorous warning from the staff.

I'm still waiting to find out who these multiple "users" were who I, supposedly, abused (in the plural).

You'd think they'd have had the decency to consult you first wouldn't you.

nick, sorry.

its just all happened so quick. a lot of people thouht she'd be at the bbc forever so it was a not only a shock that she's leaving but....that that would also be her last night and then she's not on our screens till the newyear but at least she wont have to present any more daft kids in need or eurovision & new year shows.

i watched 5news tonight to see what its like and its ok, the set is better and she'll be presenting on her own. She will definitely be doing more work than at the beeb. I don't think the beeb treat any of their staff well - I think Jane Hill's been messed around a bit with shifts etc.
