I'm shocked. I can't believe she'd move from the BBC to Five. Does this mean she won't host any other BBC shows, such as Children in Need?

On the face of it it seems like a crazy move for her but think about it - she'll be getting FAR more money as they have probably seriously pushed the boat out with this one. She'll be the Queen of Five News. They're really won't be any other egos as large as hers in the office! And she'll work regular, decent shifts as opposed to constantly changing. I'd imagine she's probably quite happy! I am too as it means I can start watching the BBC News again.

I guess she'll be an employee of Five like Kirsty Young was but works for the news service i.e. Sky

I actually hope not. I love Sian on Breakfast - she's made the programme so much more watchable since she's been a regular fixture.
Realistically though, you may be right, with Kate Silverton taking over on Breakfast perhaps?

Who's gonna be her replacement? My money's on Sian Williams.

Its also being reported Sophie is expecting her third child in February 2008 so that means a replacement is need during her maternity leave. Which will last aleast 8 months therefore there will be a big presenter reshuffle early next year for Breakfast, the one, six and News 24, if Sian is moved (which I think she will be).
The Ten will be the only show uneffected, remaining the same presenter line up for five years.
