I applaud the MSNBC anchor on this for standing her ground against "news" of the release of Paris Hilton from prison

What exactly is the point of that airheaded professional bimbo Paris Hilton anyway?

Good for her , I wish the paper reviews on the UK news would put a story in the shredder once in a while.

I never thought anyone called Mika could do something good again but she restored my faith.

Well Paxman will always speak his mind over his editor's decisions, such as replacing the business with the weather and introducing the public's video blogs.

A great stand against the bombardment of non-news in our new celebrity culture, and good on her for doing this, but it should not be the position of a newsreader to give their opinion on the validity or importance of a story - no matter how crap.

I applaud the notion of protesting against this sorry excuse for a news story although perhaps this anchor did it in a slightly over the top and unprofessional way.

A monotonous tone and a roll of the eyes may have sufficed to show her contempt rather than this showy display destined to attract wider infamy.

Not to mention the 2 guys being cocks and stirring her up. Go Mika!

Actually I interpreted it as them bigging up her reaction as a joke to protect her from the wrath of the editor upstairs, and also draw attention to the drivvel that the story was.

Gosh that woman is amazing! Go Mika. Luckily in the U.K the newsreaders get to have a say in the lead stories, well, at the BBC from what I've seen.

Some of the newsreaders have a certain degree of editorial say, but at the end of the day the editor's decision is final.
