I sometimes miss words she reads but she is a national legend I suppose Confused

This news is really sad. Moira may not have a journalism degree but that does not mean she is not a capable presenter.

here here. Shame her honorary doctorate doesn't count really. And her award of "Best Female TV personality" from the Black Journalists' Association ought to be a qualification, having been recognised by her peers as a journalist.

That's an excellently written article. The author puts forward some very convincing arguments there, which are very valid. However, I think it might be too late to make a difference for Moira - I can't see the BBC doing a u-turn on this decision. One can only hope, though.

He linked to the Daily Mail ! A WITCH! A WITCH! BURN HIM!

However I have to concede that for once the Daily Mail is bordering on a slight hint of truth. However some of the statements are wrong such as this:

The Daily bloody Mail posted:
Sue Lawley, who proved herself a clever, tough interviewer on BBC1's Nationwide in the Seventies, was shunted off to radio while just getting into her stride.

Then how come she did the Six in the 80s? I think she was 'in her stride' then.

But Moira mustn't disappear from her screens altogether!!!

Well, with regards to Sue Lawley, I think she was pointing out that Sue was known for being a tough interviewer on Nationwide and then when she hit her stride (i.e. the Six), she was shunted off. That's quite true, as she was never seen reading BBC News again.

If she was that good (not saying she isint) then wouldnt more people talk about her, know her. She's never been the face of BBC News has she?
