Moira Stuart - Dropped?

Moira's departure has now been confirmed by the BBC itself.

Well after getting busted for drug dealing I can't say I am surprised.. oh no that was fiction.. wasn't it?

I must say BBC Online have chosen the right picture of her looking stunned, disappointed and composed all at the same.

There as a mock someone did some time back - a BBC1 menu suggesting 'Big Moira Night'. Ahh... if only... hope Moira doesn't disappear off our screens altogether.

I suspect Moira is being targetted because she's the only newsreader left from the days when they didn't have to be broadcast journalists.

Shame on you BBC.

Time we all donned these fabulous t-shirts in sympathy.

Who is replacing her?

I wouldn't be suprised if it were Tim Wilcox as he has been presenting it recently, and he's definately NOT better than Moira (although he's good on News 24) but I wouldn't be suprised if the role was given to someone important that the BBC wanted to get out of the way, or some crappy presenter from News 24. *sarcasm* Even better what about Elle Crisell, newsround to nationals in a week! *sarcasm*

Shame Moira's leaving. Not only is she a national treasure, but she's about the only newsreader who tells the story calmly, and with dignity.

Ah well don't worry, I'm sure she'll be replaced by some gormless twonk fresh out of uni

Let's put this into perspective - a 5 minute slot once a week was never going to be a long term arrangement.

Moira's days were numbered when she was dumped from Breakfast. For a short time she did do some weekend bulletins, but seems to have been dumped from that.

Moira though was really dropped way back in 1999 - don't think apart from the recent weekend editions, she's ever hosted a 1, 6 or 9/10 since then!

She never has done the Nine or the Ten .

This is probably going to sound really bad, but if the bosses thought she was as good as we know she all is, wouldnt they have given her better position to do?
