Welcome to Granada
I remember someone telling me that Moira isn't actually a journalist and is just a "news reader", whereas most other news readers are actually journalists.

Maybe this why Moria is only selected for reading the news in certain programmes?

Yes she should present more News Bulletins on BBC 1 and BBC 2. If I were the head of BBC News I would allow Moira to be the main Newsreader of BBC News (because she's trhe best Newsreader ever). Fiona would be second in charge and Natasha would be third. Sophie, Googre and Matthew would play a minor role. Then I would stick the rest of them (especially that misrable Deborah Mackenzie) on Newsround.

and then the BBC would be accused of being sexist towards men

THINK BOY!

I don't care! Moira, Fiona, Natasha, Geogre, Matthew and Sophie are the best BBC Newsreaders, hence I would make the most of their talents. Smile
........ and I forgot to say Dermot as well.

to be honest, if there was a suspicious case of news-readers not turning up for work becouse of either being tracked down and annyoed contantly by people, i think i might of suspected winifred.

i would know this would happen when there is only Rob and Declan on Breakfast.

you seem totally obsessed with these newsreaders, i seriouly worry

I'm not obessed with Newsreaders. I want to become a Newsreader once I finish uni, hence I always watch the likes of Moira, Fiona and Natasha etc. because I hope to be as good as them. I hope that explains everything Weather Man.

when you say "always watch" does this involve follwing them around and peering into their houses with the aid of ladders?

well i'm going to be a newsreader after i finish all this, but i dont go around watching the newsreaders all the time. i watch the news, for the news, not to go into fantasies about the presenters. and besides why would you want to be like the others, when indivuidal talent is more respected.

Well I'm hoping to combine the personalities and talents of Moira, Fiona and Natasha, in order to create my own unique style of news presenting. Laughing

To those in the thread who want to become newsreaders:

You don't seriously think that as soon as you get out of Uni, you'll be snapped up by BBC/ITV/Sky or whatever. My friend's a lecturer at Sunderland Uni - previously a reporter for the Echo and was engaged to Carol Malia. He said: "If I had a pound for every time someone came up to me and said 'I want to become a newsreader', I'd be the bloody richest man in the world." You need experience in Broadcast Jounalism. For now, get your work on anything and everything that you can. Uni magazines, newspapers, church newsletters, community papers whatever, just get yourself around. You never know who reads them. Wink
