I noticed the only video on the Ikea story seemed to come from mobile phones. This is the first time I've seen mobile video used in a news report - has anyone seen it before?

London Tonight made a lot of fuss about their use of camera phone footage of football violence in Croydon last year - and ever since have been encouraging viewers to sign up to their 'newscrew' scheme to send footage of breaking news to ITN

Now you mention it, I recall the ITV Newd channel in the past asking viewers to send in mobile video footage if they had some. I can't remember what for. I remember them asking people to record their views on something on webcam and emailing it in too.

ITV NEWS ASKED FOR VIDEO FOOTAGE IN THE BOSCASTLE FLOODS INITIALLY. THEY SHOWED THE FOOTAGE USING WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER, AS THE PLAY BAR POPPED UP.
