Miners Rescue - Chile

Pretty big - I can't really think of anything like it in recent times. 9/11 of course, but that was a different type of event. I read somewhere about the Springhill Mine Disaster in Canada in 1958 - it attracted similar world attention, but there was no news channels then.

This looks like it's going to continue well into the early morning programmes. So Daybreak will be get to cover it's first live breaking story.

Rescuer being sent down now - what a brave f***er.

Yes so brave (or mad). This is extraordinary television.

BBC saying the man has been sent down to inspect the shaft and will then return to the surface.

For **** sake. I've been waiting several hours to see a miner and now this ****. These idiots don't know anything about making good television.

Why, ah for s**t sake.

Well this surprise live view from inside the mine has certainly made up for the disappointing delays.

Why are the miners filming the rescuer? Bizarre.

Yes, I can't believe the rescue worker is hugging all the miners. They must absolutely stink, I wouldn't go near them.
