Tim does seem better at filling time than Matt, in my opinion. Out of interest, what previous reporting experience does Tim have?

Not sure about Tim - I remember his as a presenter on ITN Morning News in the 90s. He's an experienced presenter.

And what about Matt before he became a Washington correspondent?

Matt is an experienced and long-serving reporter, with BBC World News America being his first real main-stream presenting role (he did some BBC News 24 stuff before this I think) Prior to presenting Matt was a reporter with World Service Radio, and then a BBC News correspondent in Europe (Rome I think?) and Asia (Hong Kong then Singapore when the bureau moved) before moving to Washington. He's very highly regarded as a reporter within BBC News, but arguably less experienced as a presenter than Tim.

Fair play to Andrew. He's basically saying the same rubbish over and over again.

I'd rather have a break to look at the scene of what's happening though than having a presenter staring at me awkwardly waiting for people to opt in and out.

Yep - that's a VERY valid point at which to go to the wideshot... It would certainly help hide the joins.

Good coverage from both Sky and BBC

NB - Tim Willcox looks a little worse for ware bless him!

Although I think the BBC should have pulled the programme airing on BBC1 now - 'Digging for Britain'.

He was an ITN reporter/correspondent for 6 years before he joined the BBC

He can speak fluent Spanish too - as has been seen on the BBC News channel before.

On BBC One now... 'Digging for Britain' - maybe they should have replaced that programme.

"My colleague Tim Willcox has gone to answer the call of nature".

Not sure we needed to know that Matt, but thanks anyway. Laughing

I seem to recall him translating some sort of press conference while presenting in the studio before.

Agreed.

I'm tired, so probably misheard, but did Matt Frei just mention something about his cup of tea?

I'm sorry Mr Frei but do we really need to know when Tim Willcox goes to the loo?

Talk about political point scoring - why is the mining minister and the president standing there? Surely they're making the workers nervous!

Yes. Does Dimbleby go to the toilet on election night?
