Cat, I'm not going to bother answering all your posts because most of them are just mis-quoting what I said or repeating what you've said earlier.

I must admit that I was away all weekend and so haven't seen any coverage until this week, but I just thought that the 5-6 hour tonight was exceptionally good journalism, and I couldn't believe it that Sky weren't there (having a foreign editor not being able to get on air sulking in the background of BBC lives doesn't count).

I caught a bit of the BBC coverage and thought the camera did not need to have Tim Marshall in shot...SURELY the BBC weren't gloating that a better funded, staffed and experienced corporation got something RIGHT for once?

I thought TM in shot was nothing more than the BBC pointing at the kid that's just fallen over in the playground.

Did it bring back unhappy memories, love?

As for a Rubin hour, there's a guaranteed ratings catastrophe. Although, in fairness, he wasn't too terrible last time he presented on location. But, you know, still... why bother?

Very much so. Crying or Very sad I'm sure any good psychologist could have a field day with my repressed memories. It's the ice cubes and tent pegs incident that I just can't forget. But then that was only last weekend.

That's probably why I enjoyed it! Kids falling over and crying always makes me laugh for some strange reason!?

I missed what happened between 6.30 and 7 on News 24. Did Peter Sissons continue right up to 7?

i don't quite agree that N24 are better at explaining things tbh. the likes of tim marshall, emma hurd, keith graves, james rubin, adam boulton - they are providing excellent explanations and analysis of the situation.

Oi. It was 2 conscenting adults, I'll thank you for not judging.

This whole Israel thing, I just don't understand it. It's been going on for so long, but not once recently has any of it been properly explained. All I see is "ooh, more explosions and that", and I don't know any of the politics behind it or anything.

Indeed; a good starting point for a basic explanation of the current crisis is this page.
