A trial's a trial... but still a travesty. The man is a head-case.

Your point being...? He should be convicted for being a complete and utter oddball?

He needs sectioning IMO - coz with the money he's got there's no way he'll ever find help for himself. And I think we're all agreed that he needs help.

But does he not need help?

OK, this is a big story, but does it really warrant ditching the late regional news?

Maybe he does. But thats not what the charges were concerned with at all.

Well it seems both BBC and ITV had filler programmes tonight :- One foot in the grave and Tarrant on TV.

Surely if ITV included the regional news and returned live to see MJ's return they could have easily filled until 23:30 rather than finishing at 23:15

Ann Bremner speaks to BBC, but she's being eyed up by the Sky presenter on the right. "I want that interview."

..and, moments later, voila!

Both channels have got themselves into a bit of a state, extending the news, but not long enough to allow a programme to be dropped so despite the fact that they only have easilly droppable programmes scheduled they are both now running 20 minutes later the scheduled no doubt all the way through to BBC News 24/ITV Nightscreen

So you know better than the jurors who sat through the entire case!

How did you acquire these superhuman powers?

I'm all for innocent until proven guilty but, of course, we've been here before.

It's easy to say, "there's no smoke without fire" Simon, but neither you nor I were in the courtroom and saw the family giving their evidence.

I defy you or anyone else to determine the truth from a transcript or reconstruction.

I'm not necessarily comfortable with the verdict; but I have to accept that a trial has taken place and live with the decision. That's what it's all about, is it not?

You might want to think on that before you make any other comments.

Indeed. Your first comment was plainly libelous. Let's hope Jackon is not a member of TV Forum.

Hang on Jackson.... J a r o n..

No can't be.
Well the verdict has been reached, he is clearly not guilty, yes he is strange, but he ain't no paedo, just weird simply because he didn't have a normal life like us.

Sky cut back to the studio at 11:50 to interview a showbiz expert, and a short newspaper review with Topaz Amore, then back to Martin and Jayne live in Santa Maria at 12am. Great Coverage from Sky.

I have to say I flicked between N24 and Sky last night from the pre-verdict up to past the verdict and personally I was less than impressed with Martin Stanford, especially at the start - he was saying the Jacko convoy was on the move before it was - I did wonder like someone else whether he had a monitor of the pool heli pics. I thought Daniella Relph did a much better job over on N24/World ... she kept going and going .. talking over the pictures (she obviously had a feed) ... some nice camerawork panning round to show us what was around her. I also thought the BBC Ten O'Clock News kept going well - helped by the fact that it was Huw who is used to Breaking News from his N24 days. I was expecting 'more' from Sky as it's there sort of story more than the BBC. Think Daniella had one up on Martin as she had been there from the start so know absolutely everyone and everything to enable her to keep talking. I liked the idea of the countdown on Sky as a device to keep people watching but it looked a little stupid when it had to keep being changed. Saw a bit of CNN in the run up and that was nice and clean with good commentators etc. Some nice description from the BBC's Peter Bowes when he came out of the court as well. As for ITV ... suppose they decided to plow the resources into 1030 rather than the early stages on the ITVNC.
